LX4s at Fern Bay Black (rev)

After much discussion, I democratically decided it was time to give the LX4s another outing. FE4R will have brave men grinning and wimps snivelling. FE4R? Pfft! :rockon:

Actually it is funny also because it is maybe the hardest track to master well. It is long and has many different kind of curves which seem to require bit different settings. Because it is also basicly figure "8" it is hard to utilize asymmetric setup. Then there are those high and steep curbs which plague all Fe tracks. (but the uphill section is one of my favorites)

And then you decide to group all that with one of the hardest cars to control with mouse...LX4. I don't know when but I'm sure I'm going to get my revenge some day :norty:

I don't think there is a track that is easier with a mouse.... :-) Ahh the drag strip...

gebus that's a hard track.. I think I've only made it around twice before ending on the roof..

Can I get a car with a rubber top so I'll bounce back over? and you want to do HOW many laps??

Don't worry buddy.

I've driven LFS for quite long (both time and distance) and imho that IS the most difficult track in the game. There are lot of corners which you have to take with lot of risk (=insanely fast with little room for error) if you want to be competetive. I don't even need to mention that track would have never got through FIA inspection (that wall corner is plain stupid and IRL lethal).

That track can be frustrating even with an easier car than LX4, which is not the easiest car to use there.

Try to avoid driving over the curbs at first. And coast the tight corners. If you manage to get it well that way, then try to use little throttle in some corners and in some particular corners you should ride the curbs little bit (most notably the tight chicanes). Idea being that at first drive the track slower so that you can drive it w/o mistakes and lap by lap increasing speed.

If you have problems you might want to try some easier (less oversteery) setup (like my set is done so that I can drive it with mouse

) than what those teaminferno sets are (which are WR hotlap sets).

By the way: How is the server going to work tomorrow? Will there be a password or will it just get locked after we've started? And what time is quali gonna start?

(Sorry for the stupid questions if I'm supposed to know this stuff, first time participant in your race... but I'm looking forward to 45+ minutes of sweating and hoping not to flip or spin that LX-thing

First off, welcome.

Get yourself on the server at about 8pm BST. We generally have a warm-up race before qualifying. Qualifying starts at about 8:30ish. Server becomes private immediately after quali. You don't need top know the password, just don't leave!

I see you've been on our server so you know what we're like. look forward to seeing you. Have fun.

That was fun, had one or two good fights on track and I was quite close to Stoney for almost the entire race. Couldn't really get my rhythm though, so only drove a few good clean laps.

Too bad about the 2 disco's. I would have been equally pleased with 4th place, with 3rd in sight.
