ill be in ireland, but i might take my router back with me so i can play..... would that workas my dad has a broadband enabled line with tesco or does it have to be bt even thou all my login details stored on the my router are the ip address and password of bt?

Your login details will only work on a phone line for someone who already has a paid for broadband connection with the same ISP as you, so that the login can be picked up and passed to the correct systems. Thus it's rather pointless, as if they already have a broadband connection with the same company just use theirs instead of putting your own kit in.
