 Pity you cant make it.

If the wind is more than 10 kph we're going to need all the luck we can get...

Awww, sorry you can't make it tonight, Kev  You're pretty fast in that combo, that's for sure. I haven't seen Moose on this week, so I don't know how you compare to him, but I'm sure you would have at least got podium tonight if you were able to make it.

Then again, if there is one thing for certain on this combo, it's that it ain't over 'till it's over. I feel that literally anything can happen. An hour is pretty darn long in the BF1 :)

Damn right.  I cant see me making it for an hour without spinning off in this one.

Just did a bit of full fuel load testing and the car feel horrible
Some in race ARB and Brake balance setting adjustments are going to have to take place, and i hate fiddling with buttons in a race, especially with the concentration needed to drive the BF1:sad:

delankster

think i'd bet on a moose win :flirty:
have fun all.....

For those who don't want to get depressed, don't read this post:

If you want a 75% chance of finishing unharmed, you would have to be able to do 994 clean laps out of 1000. (0,994^48 = 0,75)

Gaah! :help:

Good, but frustrating race.
I put up no resistance to Andy and John getting past at the start, i just wanted to take it relatively easy and see what effect the wind had (more than 10kmh was my worst fear, and it came true).

I made a stupid mistake very early on at the chicane and dropped to 8th, but made it back up to 1st fairly quickly.

Then i had to try and avoid a spinner at the chicane, and spun myself in the process, allowing John to come flying past.  My tires were buggered because of that so i had to slow down for a couple of laps to let them cool.

Then i got into a rhythm and started firing in some good laps, only to put a wheel on the grass just before i was going to pit. I hit the wall and suffered a lot of damage. The pit stop ended up taking around 50 seconds.  John lapped me on the next lap, but then made his pitstop, so i knew i would have to find at least 30-40 seconds to catch him.

I just went for it, putting in fast laps when i could, but traffic made it difficult.

I pulled a lot of time back, but never had enough in me to catch John, eventually finishing 16 secs behind.

Grats to John on a fine race:yahoo:  and thanks to everyone being lapped for making it easy to pass. I couldn't thank you at the time because i didn't want to loose and focus at all pressing chat keys.

I confess to being the least enthusiastic person around as far as this car is concerned. But wouldn't you know, I enjoyed it! :lmfao: Now as you all know I take my successes where I can and I'm going to call tonight a success! Finishing is king! :yahoo: Some great little battles on the way round too.

EDIT: The replay is up if ya want it

Well this certainly was an interesting race. I decided not to qualify and start last, so I could take it easy. After the first few turns I had already moved about 8 positions up, and settled in behind Ron. More drivers went off the track in the next couple of laps - because of the wind, no doubt :D - and me and Ron were moving nicely up in the field.

I settled into a rythm, passed a few guys and found myself quite comfortably in 5th after my pitstop. But then my monitor went black... Bloody Vista power saving :ranting2: Argh, I was so mad I think my blood was boiling. Especially because I had the same thing happen last thursday as well! Anyway, I went on to the grass during the few seconds the blackout lasted, enough to lose 2 positions. I was so frustrated because of that, that I lost all my focus and rythm, making frequent tiny mistakes and one big one which resulted in a badly damaged car. So... an extra pitstop for me to repair damage, and a lot more frustration.

Even though my tyres were pretty fresh and my car completely repaired, I had difficulties in the second and third sectors since then; in the fast turns the back end would step out ever so slightly. So I had to take it easy there. I gave up hope of catching the guy in front, who had a 30 second lead on me, and decided to just settle for 7th.

So yeah, this is the most points I've scored so far, but it still left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth because I could have been 5th had it not been for the stupid power saving thingy.

Congratulations to everyone who finished the race!

Next week should be very fun, I think :)

Moral of that story is: Power saving sucks! Turn it off. my power saving works like this; When I've finished with my PC...I turn it off. Tzimple. :)

Well that was the worst LFS race in my career. :( I made so many mistakes that I lost count. The first one came on lap 1, when I had to let Spuddy pass before the chicane. I must have kept my focus on his car rather than the corner, because before I knew it I was off the track. Lost my composure completely there, and from there on the mistakes just kept rolling on.

I knew this was going to be a difficult race.. but still I was very disappointed with my own performance. Wednesday night online I drove with 100% fuel,  and I also did a 30 lap offline practice run the day before with no mistakes. So I'd have thought I'd do better in the race. Well, everyone has bad days. :) Congrats to John for taking the lead in the 4th quarter ranking!

I wonder, can the wind really make that much difference?? It seemed like I just couldn't go as fast as I normal on the last two sections.. Was wind enabled on the server the days before?

Well, time to forget this race ASAP and look forward to next week.
