Umm don't quite remember that tbh but I'll happily share my tali with you should you get off your butt and make it to the LAN :)

Talking of badges, how's the new one coming along :flirty:

But do you not think the prices are getting out of hand?

Gandalf

Prices are good. Picked up a 1L bottle of 10y Glenmorangie from Sainsburys for £29 the other day. Ok, it was on offer and reduced by £8 but still, even £36 for a litre of excellent quality 10y single malt is a great price.

Cake: Four large eggs. One cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Three/four cups butter or margarine. One and two third cups granulated sugar. Two cups all purpose flour. Fish shaped ethyl benzene. Twelve medium geosynthetic membranes. Three tablespoons rhubarb, on fire.

Just out of interest how long does it take you to get through a bottle?
I think gaming and whisky can lead eachother on into the night lol

I was playing dawn of war late last night whilst drinking some nice 10yr Bush mills, when I finally went to bed I was a little shocked at my indulgence :D

Gandalf

ooh, that'll last a good few months. I never drink it when I'm gaming. I stick to beer for that, otherwise I'll just waste the bottle and not enjoy it. Whiskey is to be savoured, not swilled while fragging everything in sight!

A good movie, or some mood music, and a glass or two of fine single malt is the way to enjoy it fully :)

Yeah I agree, especially the music part.
It was supposed to be a night cap but I got caught up in a mission Bottle and glass on the desk hmmmm

whats any self respecting whisky lover going to do :)

if you like morangie you should try the port wood finish mate

This morning, in the pursuit of pure research, I purchased a bottle. This finish is called 'Quinta Ruban', (another ponsified branding). Despite the temptation to try immediately, I resisted 'til 10am.

How the directors of the Glenmorangie distillery have the gall to sell this is beyond me.

I'd keep every drop for myself. I have decided that today is a 'happy' day.

This LAN I we are mainly drinking Quinta Ruban :D

P.S I may consider tasting other brands on offer.

Next time i'll remember not to be either playing games or asleep when you get the whiskeys out :-( It's not quite the same joining in when you all half cut :lmfao:. i have to say, what little of the whiskey i did have certainly helped with my cold :crying:

Either way, The Aberlour (10yr single malt) is quite nice, not to sharp on the tongue, though what sharpness there is lingers. Good warm glow of a feeling after you've had a little, warms you right through. Not amazing or anything to speak off compared to others i've had, but not bad for only £16 a bottle.

I'd describes the others i have but i've finished them :narnar:, (10yr Macallan).

I have to say I was particularly impressed with the 15-year old Dalwhinnie donated by the hotel.

Between that, the Talisker, Glenfiddich, Aberlour and others I had one helluva hangover on Saturday

Tutonic

Don't be afraid Penfold, that 'hangover' was just weakness leaving your body:)
