I had a last minute frre evening and decided to jump in...
I had not been practising but trying to squeeze FPS from my laptop, so I came into the session with an incredible amount of 10 offline laps.
I struggled to get into the server (no connection messages and 2 disconnects during quali), found out (cost a restart) that my computer did not cope with the windowed mode (horrible warping around)...
I had time for a few laps and qualified around the end of the grid with 1:50 I think :D
Race started well, got to pos 11 because some guys ahead seemed overly careful at start (a few messages stating fear and tension before the green lights as well, no guts!).
I was quicly alone (tried to catch up with 2 cars fighting ahead, but locked the rear wheels in a slow corner and lost sight of them) doing 1:50 laps approx (best around 1:47 I think... but I still don't know what set I used for the race and quali ;))

Then Doorman started expalining on vent how it was difficult to keep concentration and not pushing it, and about that time I missed a braking point, locked the fronts and understeered into a barrier.
I crawled to the pits at first, then boldly accelerated to 100km/h or so and...wrecked the car in the pit entry wall :)
The crew told me it was a 25 minutes paint job, I had done 20 minutes I think, so I wished the repair crew good luck and retired shamelessly.

Excellent FFB feel, graphics now OK, the full mode bring a new dimension to online racing and the near total lack of information gives a great boost to immersion.
Now I shut up and will consider more practice before joining an event.
Thanks for the organisation.

This Wednesday, 28th January the track will be:

LastPlaceLake.
FF1600
Server start at 19:30 GMT

1/2 hour practice
20 minutes qualifying

35 laps. That will necessitate one pitstop.

Hopefully we'll be able to finish this one.

Bumpity bump. Incidentally, I've uploaded some edited advertising boards for Lastplace Lake to the Download section. Moose, I've rationalised them a bit, a lot better methinks.

This will be good! :) Now I've just got to make a pit strategy.. in fact I've also got to read the manual about how pitstops are carried out!

Ahh

This is the only track i havent tried yet- I Haven't even downloaded it yet.  is it a small layout/ easy to learn?

Need to get 1/2 hour practice before practice starts to get to grips with it I guess.

Around 1.30.00 for the top drivers.

Fairly tricky little track in a 1600

Tried a few laps last night (internet off - did I remember to pay the bill?)
Well... It is tricky :)

I think I finished one lap without crashing or cutting a corner in the end  - found the log, 1:49:950  :roflmao:
I may turn up tonight to play backmarker if the net is up.

Looks Tricky

looking forward to tonights race,

can i ask a qestion, do people who use G25s use the shift up/down gears on the paddles or the gear stick, i have been using the gear stick, only because the cockpit shows a gear shifter which moves as per changing gear!:g:

I use the stick shifter (sequential mode). Although I think Doorz said these cars actually have an H-gate shifter in real life..?

obsolum

I use the stickshifter, of course! :)

I can't make races on Wednesday evenings, as that's the night I go to the gym Besides, I don't know how well that track runs on my pc :sideways:

I still haven't had a chance to properly drive online with nKP yet. I don't want to join some random server for my first time(s), and the dMr server never seems to have people on whenever I check it.

Doorman

I researched the FF1600-1800s and they use Hewland 4-5 speed H shift boxes. Therefore I use the H shifter for them.

What a coincidence... are you a member of any bristol based motorsports clubs?
