i used to have the same problem with vent in bf2 when flying helos but i found you can use a program called joy2key, it will let you assign any button on a contoller to a key on a keyboard, so when playing arma i have num pad 0 as my talk key with button 2 on my sidewinder mapped to it as well. they can both be used with no switching required and its free
