Good idea Ghosty.

It looks like you have some new admins. Can you please give me a full list (any in addition to the above?) so I can update here please. I know about T-Bag and Valdeko obviously.

If you get a minute, can you please also update your admin list here.

Ta muchly.

Are you going to publish an agenda for this meeting? It would be nice to give  people are not coming to the LAN an opportunity to make some comments.

Things that spring to mind are such as
1. The lack of dedicated  servers. Apparently this is never going to be available. Is this true and does  that not mean that this game is fubared for us?

2. Punkbuster and the  problems it's causing with not letting people on to the server. What can be  done, if anything, to ameliorate this?

3. New members to the Community.  We've had several repeat people coming on to the server but they're ignored. Why  is no one picking these people up and pointing them towards the forum. We need  them. Why does no one welcome players as they come onto the server. Wickie, for  example, is a name I recognise from my infrequent playing. I gave him a wb  yesterday but no-one else did. No one points them to our forum.

4. TS vs  in-game comms. Without the ability to talk to your team as a whole or the server  as a whole it's pretty ineffective. Even if it an an admin only ability it would  make sense.

5. The rubric in the GameTracker  post needs to be changed to be more succinct and punchy and ideally no longer  than the opening section. (This was requested weeks ago but hasn't been changed).

6. The logo and text needs to be finalised and implemented.

These are not criticisms but concerns about the fabric of the game. We need to list the problems and address them where where we can.

Does these limitations make the ultimate adoption of this game infeasible?

PS> Would it not also be worthwhile posting in the BC2 forum the fact you're having a meetings and also asking for any comments / requests from members which they'd like discussed?

PP> Someone from Council (tbc who) would like to sit in on the meeting.

Yes, the full agenda will be published afterwards aswell as before. However some content may be for admin's eyes only as this is an "admin only meeting" and so it may be watered down or edited.

Things that spring to mind are such as
1. The lack of dedicated  servers. Apparently this is never going to be available. Is this true and does  that not mean that this game is fubared for us?

For lan's yes, for multiplayer as a whole no. This is the way it looks like games are going. We as a community have to evolve to having servers hosted by someone else. Valve may follow suit and if the new cs does come out we may not be able to have our own server. Therefore this game is pivotal for us as a community to be able to see what is and what is not possible with a fixed an hosted server now as we need to work out what can and cannot be done.

2. Punkbuster and the  problems it's causing with not letting people on to the server. What can be  done, if anything, to ameliorate this?

I am going to discuss a few possibles. They have just changed how passwords work you have to understand that the game is constantly changing with each update as the game is still evolving and being fixed and tweaked its still new and not yet finalised in anyway.

This will be addressed immediately, we have messages that are sent out when players join but admins and community members will be instructed to say hello to regular joiners. I have pointed people to the forum and several have joined since the server went live.

4. TS vs  in-game comms. Without the ability to talk to your team as a whole or the server  as a whole it's pretty ineffective. Even if it an an admin only ability it would  make sense.

Addressing this week.

5. The rubric in the GameTracker  post needs to be changed to be more succinct and punchy and ideally no longer  than the opening section. (This was requested weeks ago but hasn't been changed).

Will be shortened and edited.

6. The logo and text needs to be finalised and implemented.

This will be done sooner towards the lan on finalising the agenda

PP> Someone from Council (tbc who) would like to sit in on the meeting.

Happy to welcome any members of the admin team to come and sit in and throw ideas and criticisms around

Unless the posts do not meet the forum guidelines (abusive, spam...) this is not an option.  We can't go removing posts from the forum just because we don't like what is being said.

Fine fine, have it your way Whitey.

I'll just have to edit their posts so they are abusive/spammy, then delete them

How are the minutes coming along Ghosty?

IMHO - a lesson I've learned from many years of taking minutes from client meetings is that it's best to do them when they're fresh. It's been a good couple of weeks now and nothing has happened. That, in turn, I guess means nothing has been implemented yet from that meeting so the whole thing has come to a grinding halt?

Cheers

Hi Pen,

Unfortunately most of my team are still struggling to gain access to this forum.

I will give them all a nudge and hopefully its working now.

As of last night they were still being prompted for a password.

I am going to get the minutes up as soon as i can but haven't been able to post them as this section has been down since the lan due to the permission changes.

GhostMjr

Currently this forum requires a password.

The password is the same as when the bc2 admin section was in the bc2 section.

Please can this either be changed or removed to only allow only the people with the bc2 badge to be allowed access

-=[dMw]=-GhostMjr

That's not the case - or shouldn't be. Permissions have been sorted for a couple of days now.

With regards to the password, as I understand it this forum is only accessible by your admins (and Community Admins) so the password is irrelevant now. Smilo will confirm if otherwise.

Let's leave it on there as it is for now and then change it if we need to in due course. Otherwise we run the risk of misplacing the rest of your admin team :)
