New domination and revenge system sounds interesting though (so long as its not just a voice going 'domination' after x amount of kills  )

Source engine updates might be interesting.

well rumors have been going around that steam might be entering the console market with a modified Source, this might be seen a preparation for a CS:S for xbox/PS3?

Does this need to go through gaming development or is it a given that we can readopt it with the new content.

To be honest guys what are we deliberating about? CSS is done and unless this is a completely new version / engine, it's still going to be CSS.

We should give it a go, if people are interested.

New content might give the community a chance of using it to get some members in.

Ye CSS might have died out within dmw, but its still the second most played game on steam. add the normal counter strike and you have nothing on steam that surpases it.. we just failed to use it as a recruitment base.

Not sure I agree completely. We did use it to recruit but after a while folks here stopped playing it. So did the publics. I'm not sure we can revive this now.

I think it all depends on how much of a change it really is, if it's very little, it will change nothing, if there is some new ' gaming content' of some kind, I think there will be a small burst of live again, but only temporary

If this update is as it looks, just a polish it's just like when they added achievements into DoD:S, it won't make any difference to people playing it. So there is still little point hosting an empty server. If it updates the graphics and game play and revitalises it then obviously it's worth a look. But if it is anything more than adding achievements then I'll be most shocked.

(Not least because it severely reduces the urgency for a replacement CS game that is long overdue and would clearly make VAST unimaginable sums of money for them)

I been playing on it for abit and it seems fine (as usual you got the "hardcore" cs:s fans moaning that they dont like change) the new stuff seems pretty fun like achivements and what not but really its css with the updates which they did with games like team fortress 2 and dod:s. After the beta there releasing it for free for people who own cs:s as a patch.
