I thought it was about time to provide a general review of where we are at the moment and where we are headed :)

Team Rank:
The team kicked off on 31st August, so we have not been going that long, but we have made significant progress since then moving from our initial team rank of over 30,000th, down into the top 5000, top 3000, top 1000 (on 15th September), top 500 and are now ranked 362nd in the world

Team size:
Has now increased to 28 (the extra two names on the scoreboard are Smilo & Stryker's dopplegangers ;) The new members have really been helpful as it has pushed our folding rate up again.

Folding Rate:
We initially started folding with a smaller number of people and therefore a lower rate, but then as people joined the team and borged more machines (particularly Oldbloke's *large* army of borged machines at his office) we managed to push the team's folding rate up to about 10,500 points per week.

Recruitment
We went on a little recruitment drive on about 22nd September to see if we oculd really push up towards 15,000 ppw and as a result of the challenge laid down we had several new members join the team (thanks peeps :D) taking us up to our current numbers.

Medic!
We then had a major set-back.  Just 24 hours into the recruitment drive for 15,000ppw, BT decided to block all connections to the F@H servers and at a stroke Oldie's army was retired on medical grounds and the team lost about 3,500 points per week in processing power.  So our rate dropped back to about 7,000 ppw and the speed of our advance up the rankings took a severe dent  :(   This also meant that what would have been an achievable 32,000 points target by 1st October was failed, but only 2 days.

Current Folding Rate:
Thanks to our new members and new machines being borged I am pleased to report our folding rate is now stable again at about 9,250 ppw and we are continuing to increase a little bit more each week as we borg more.  We still need more members and more processing power and I intend to use then LAN to convert all those that attend that are not *yet* folding for us :)  Folding at 10,000 ppw gives us a realistic shot at breaking into the world top 100 and that is what I hope we can achieve.

World Rank 300th:
We are scheduled to achieve this before the LAN later thsi month.

World Rank 200th:
We on track to reach this ranking on or around 15th November.

100,000 Team Points:
At our current rate of folding we should achieve 100,000 points by 25th November 2003.  This currently equates to a world ranking of 176th.

1st January 2004
We are on course to reach over 150,000 points by the end of this year, so our world ranking by that stage our world ranking should be about 130th.

Top 100:
Between us and the top 100 there are only 13 teams that fold faster than us and none of these fold at more than 14,500 ppw.  So we have a real good shot at the top 100 in 2004.  Out of interest, within that 13 teams are such leviathans as ModtheBox, Motherboards.org and ChicagoGamers.

Keep up the good work peeps, borg your friends and famiy's PCs, persuade them to leave them on overnight, switch to condole version to fold faster (doesn't have to waste cpu cycles on graphics), runt he console version as a service if you don not want the window and make sure that you run -forceasm and -advmethods where you can!

1k Klub Members: Congratulations to all of our 1k Klub members - I know that there will be many more in the near future!  The 1k Klub is currently made up of OldBloke, TL, Stryker, Zok, Tugs, Squonk, Smite, Sadako, Tutonic, DogMeat and Cadaver.  w2g fellas :worship:

We've done great job so far, let's get more people in the community folding for our team - pester them, sign them up and if they refuse then you have permission to assimilate them ;)

Don't worry, some servers *do* get clogged up a bit, just let it carry on folding.
Don't worry about the deadline, you still get credits for it even if the deadline is missed.
The software will automatically try to reconnect to he servers to send the completed WU back to Stanford automatically.  The quque allows up to 9 previous WUs to be held.
Just keep the thing folding :)

A watched pot never boils.  And the moral of this story is:

......that medical research needs you to drink more often - we need the folding points

Here's another update on the Folding Team and where we are headed :)

New Data:

Team Rank:
The team kicked off on 31st August, so we have not been going that long, but we have made significant progress since then moving from our initial team rank of over 30,000th, down into the top 5000, top 3000, top 1000 (on 15th September), top 500, 362nd (12th September) and are now ranked 313th in the world

Team size:
Has now increased to 30 (from 28).  The new members have really been helpful as it has reduced the rate at which our folding effort has decreased over the last two weeks.

Current Folding Rate:
Despite new members our folding rate is now 8,377 ppw (down from 9,250 ppw) as we have a few *inactive* members creeping in :(  Peeps, if you can, then please do rekjoin us in the active ranks :)

World Rank 300th:
We are still scheduled to achieve this before the LAN later this week.

World Rank 200th:
We on track to reach this ranking on or around 29th November (slipped back from 15th November due to slower folding rate).

100,000 Team Points:
At our current rate of folding we should achieve 100,000 points by 29th November 2003 (used to be 25th).  This currently equates to a world ranking of 188th (was 176th).

1st January 2004
We are on course to reach over 138,000 points by the end of this year (was 150,000).

Top 100:
Between us and the top 100 there are still only 13 teams that fold faster than us and none of these fold at more than 14,500 ppw.  So we have a real good shot at the top 100 in 2004.  Out of interest, within that 13 teams are such leviathans as ModtheBox, Motherboards.org and ChicagoGamers.

10k Klub & Individual World Ranking
We are not ther eyet, but by the end of the week 2 members of the team may well have hit the 10k mark *and* broken into the top 5000 ranking for their individual folding points.

We've done great job so far, let's get more people in the community folding for our team - pester them, sign them up and if they refuse then you have permission to assimilate them ;)
