Anyone interested in getting this?

Gave it a go earlier and looks like good fun.

Anyone fancy trying it with me at the lan?

Unsure on multiplayer support yet will look into it!

Maybe cutting off my nose to spite my face, but I tend to avoid Codemasters these days.  Also, I don't think it would be "simulatory" enough for me.  It does look nice though.

The Dirt series was way over arcadish, but after reading some of the reviews they all say that this is a "sim" but what ever that means is left to be seen. I really hope that this game would be even decent to drive.

I really enjoyed Grid and Dirt, not so much a fan of Fuel. Anyway I've bought this, I'll hopefully get a chance to play it this weekend or early next week as I have plans for launch day. Anyway the videos look great and I've always enjoyed Codemasters graphics.

I honestly don't think this is as good as geoff hammond's series.

It's a bit arcadish and also very competitive.

Even on easy its very hard for me.

Not sure its all i was hoping for.

Maybe geoff hammond will bring out another game one day!

Got this day after release, i can honestly say i dont rate codemasters much but this is an absolute masterpiece.  Its very hard to get the hang of at first but once you have the controls set up properly and have spent a little time tweaking certain settings it becomes easier to grasp.  the wheather system is brilliant, apart from when your doing 190mph down a straight in the pouring rain, you cant see anything lol.  i think people will have very different views on this, i think its a bit like marmite, you either love it or hate it......i love it!!

Any more opinions on whether it is more sim than arcade? Really trying to avoid the arcarde types.
 Bring on the randomness!
Apparently I actually exist! Or maybe it was the drink?

as much as i like gp4 i must admit this is fun

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

I just picked up a cheap wheel to play this with and it's made the game so much more fun. I don't know if it's more sim or arcade, but it's certainly more realistic than Dirt 2 or Grid, a whole different league, step off track and you lose grip, accelerate on a kerb or the astroturf and you'll wind up off the track. You've almost no chance of winning but it's great fun anyway. Only gripe I have with it is that the stewards seem to think everything is your fault.
Break for a corner and someone drives into the back of you and you'll be warned etc. Seems a bit aggressive to me. Yet when I forced Schumacher into the barrier and ended his race (much like he tried recently with Barrichello) I got away with it.

Totally agree, i seem to get warned all the time for incidents that i didnt cause or for someone behind me that randomly runs into the back of me, especially at the start of a race.

i agree also that it is hard, although to be fair it would be boring if you won all the time and joined a team that dominates straight from the off.  i think the idea of the game is to start off with a pants team (you only get to choose from 3) and then progress, i reckon then it will get easier, and more interesting when you sign contracts with better teams and progress to the 2nd or 3rd season.

As for the arcade or sim thingy, i am of the opinion it is definatley more of a sim,  its far too realistic to be an arcade game and the fact that you get P1, P2 and P3 before qualifying is great, especially when it rains in P1 then dry in P2 and then damp in P3, it makes the race all that more important.  i do find the concentration levels needed quite overwhelming though, you cant blink otherwise your off into the gravel/grass without any warning (again very realistic).

i know alot of you have always played racing games, and i havent had the joy of racing with any of you (yet), but F1 is the only racing that i enjoy (apart from karting), so i cant really compare it to anything else, but if you want realism (bar the stewards :-P ) then this is what you need, i think its incredible and will be playing it for a very very long time (unless they bring out an F1 2011 lol)

i cant stop talking about this game :-P

I'm leaning more far more towards a sim having checked out some onboard footage from china. A friend and I have been in time trail mode around that circuit trying to be as fast as possible. After several attempts we got our breaking points sorted etc. Our time in a McLaren 1:35 ish. Watched Buttons lap of the circuit with the throttle, brake and gear indicators and it is almost identical expect for where he uses the throttle and brake together on the first bend...we didn't try that. Anyway his time, 1:34 and the braking points are so close it's scary.

I got this last week and I would say it's more sim than arcade, brilliant graphics, dynamic weather that works, fun to play BUT I've yet to complete a race because of a very big bug. The game freezes at odd points, sometimes for 5-10 seconds before coming back, and eventually going to a grey screen and hanging everything, needing a reboot. It can do this at any point, and at any time, sometimes not for an hour, sometimes within 20 seconds. It would seem from the forums that other people have this problem, along with a fistful of others. I really couldn't recommend it to anyone from my experience, but as always YMMV...
If it wasn't for this it'd get a big thumbs up, as it is it gets a big rasberry!
