GhostMjr

I have created this topic to find out why and how you joined dmw.

I am curious as to why you joined us and how so it helps me with further developing the finding new games process aswell as developing a better way to get games going that we can find yet more people to join us here at dmw.

So what game did you see us on?

How did you hear about us was it a referral?

So to start heres my story and I hope you share yours:

I use to play years ago with my friends in a clan known as doom. We played rainbow six and the other sequels for quite some time using gamespy to make servers on 56k dialup. This is also where my game name came about. My name was Ghost and I held the rank of Mjr in the clan. Hence why I was then known as GhostMjr. I moved onto ghost recon where I joined MTU and moved away as I didn't really feel welcome. I then joined [CIGS] a cs clan where I played with a range of school friends were I met Icehawk and Duvel. This clan folded and when Ice and Duvel moved I noticed they had joined dMw. After a while of playing without a tag I joined dMw where I was welcomed and felt at home. Going to the LAN's have been great fun aswell as having a great laugh over voicecomms but mostly the admined servers and teamwork aswell as maturity brought me to dMw.

The rest is simply history.

Thanks for your input!

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Aint nothing to really talk about but:

Ive played almost every MP shooter as a lone wolf, not really careing about clans or communities for those games. But at somepoint when playing CS:S i came about dMw server, the text seemed nice (server name) so i decided to give it a try, and to my suprise i liked how the server was run, takeing into a point that each other server was a big fragfest 24/7, i found tactical CS quite fun. So i became a regular and started to befriend other dMw members and i do belive at somepoint they just said that, if you like it here, go and join us on the dMw forums, which eventually i did. And i havent regretted that choice in my life, since ive made quite alot of friends here.

And thats how the terror named Acid came to dMw.
:devil:Acid_Skass in CS:S

smilodon

Came here  throughCS 1.6. I played CS for a while with a work mate. We created a clan called NSL where I met Doorman and Armitage. When NSL folded I followed Doorman and Armitage along with Dingo (another work colleague) here to dMw in about 2001-2002.

So I guess I'm a CS import

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Icarus

I played 1.5/1.6 cs for a long time on the likes of Barrys world. I remembered the invite passworded server you guys used to run and have known about dMw since then. Ive played on just about every public server you have had over the years but have always played competitive Cs/CSS and played for a few competitive teams such as #Snipers etc and ran 3mc during most of the time also, so not really had the time for public server play. Now im getting long in the tooth for nights of practice I thought I would enjoy playing some relaxed public fun as my old clan 3mc are winding down to just mmo's. I joined because of the similar ethos to my old clan regarding polite friendly gameplay age etc.

I still miss now and again match play and have the odd game. Always ran clans and leagues and really enjoying dMw so far as its very organised and Its great not having to do anything for a change apart from enjoy it.

T-Bag

I was playing CS:S at the time. I didn't even know the server had rules so got told of a couple of times. But once I got used to it I hung around. I joined the forum fairly quickly, but didn't really use it at first.

A combination of things have had me gaming less and less, mostly university stuff, and my steam rating has been pretty low for a while but it's slowly coming back recently with a little help from Black Ops. Gone off BC2 a bit because I generally only game for a map or two, but will try and change this pattern for when BF3 comes around.

I played against dMw in an ED CS match, in prep for the match came & had a look at the site & had a read to see what the clan was all about, enjoyed the match & the banter, noted that dMw played in much the way I liked to game with the emphasis being put on having fun & playing as the game was meant to be played. The clan I was in split so I found my way back here & started hanging around the forum & servers.

You can blame Suicidal Monkey,

Was in downgraded with him and we played CS1.6 and then Battlefield 1942, Modern Warfare mod and then BF2, Ben left us to play BF2 with dMw and kept advertising dMw and the LANs  So I join the forums and played on the BF2 server, then signed up to a LAN and taught how to play TCS real time, met some really good people and started to spend more time on the forums and servers.

CoD4 was just out and the community was thinking about running it.  I played on CoD the server from the beginning became a supporting member.

Toxteth

Blunt and I just used to play on Jolt 12 Militia server for CS 1.4 onwards and I seem to remember Blunt found one of the dMw guys posting about the server on the Jolt Forum, so checked it out.

It was Oldie pimping for new members, I think it was just me & Tox who took the bait afaik.
I initially registered as Tox's Dad and have been around here since july 2002!
I just found my 1st forum post :roflmao:

Lameduck

I was found wandering in Live for Speed land in 2007, looking for racing that didnt involve being punted off every race by bleedin idiots.
Had spent a year doing that and found dMr by accident. Enjoyed the a few nights racing with two very helpful guys called Old Bloke and Doorman.
Found out on Vent that Doorman was the old bloke (a whole year older than me). Was impressed by the patience shown by the all the dMr guys, so stuck around.:D
