We've been given one gameplay demo and already a DLC has been announced? I smell cash cow dung.

3 Factions isn't that surprising. I would be surprised if they were all available on one map. It basically means more DLC available because there are more terrains are possible and more unit types and weapons to skin. Commander making a comeback is more surprising, but so long as they're still trying to shovel DLC down peoples throats at the expense of a quality it's not really a good sign. If the commander is somehow tied to the dronestrike DLC then that would summarise in one move everything that is wrong with EA.

On a final note, it's still not going to be available on steam and it's still not sensibly priced which are on their own enough to put me off.

3 factions isn't even all that  if you take a step back and think about it. It's just going to feel like a larger version of Squad DM already in BF3.

Where do EA have these conversations? Do they have blow-up dolls of the Activision and Ubisoft board to talk ideas with?

Three factions? Wow! BattleField 2 had six (US Navy SEALs, United Kingdom British SAS, Russia Russian Spetsnaz, MEC Special Forces, Rebels, Insurgents)

It's like being handed a 3-year-olds crayon drawing and being asked "isn't that great?". Well, if you are the parent - fantastic, but truthfully, no; it's total rubbish.

Is nobody left at DICE with a spine, or memory, who can stand up and say "well actually, no. It might look good, but we can do much better and have done a great deal better a decade ago". Why don't we start with that and go from there?

Instead, they're taking out all the things that make BattleField the game it was and modelling what's left on Call of Duty. And not even the first PC Call of Duty (when it was credible), but the Modern Warfare Console COD that gave rise to the "angry XBOX kid".

It might be "popular" in some quarters, but it's not an improvement.
