Oh well, it's their loss at the end of the day.

Valve, Tripwire and many others have demonstrated that giving your commmunity modding tools not only keeps the fans happy, it gives the developers a ridiculous amount of talent from which to cherry pick the best stuff.

It also makes them a lot of money.

Prices are coming down a bit for bf4.

Green man Gaming is offering it for £44.99 same as origin but with 25% off if you use discount GMG25-2G9OL-15PO7.

http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/gb/en/pc/games/shooter/battlefield-4/#description

Making it £33.75 plus if you get 6.06% cashback from topcashback this gets the price down to £31.

Also it's £29.99 via dvd on Green Man Gaming, unsure whether the voucher code will work but topcashback will.

Anyone seen cheaper?

How did you get an invite?

I have found this info about the alpha: http://www.behindgames.com/battlefield-4-alpha-trial-begins-june-17th/

I got an invite too :)
Although I have windows 8 installed (which is not supported in the alpha), I hope to play it in windows 7 compatability mode

Won't work in W7 compatibility (BF4.exe crashes).

Luckily I have an OS/X Lion and a Windows 7 boot drive. It took a while to start as I hadn't boot it in 6 months, but ran the Alpha just fine.

You clearly need to log more hours in the game mate.

Same here :(. Going to install a dualboot I guess...

There seems to be a fix for windows 8:

QuoteIt's so simple, actually...

First of all: Thanks to Flug-E for giving this tip on another thread!

Now, for the solution: Just remove all PB files on the BF4 Alpha Trial folder under the "Origin Games" folder! First, I clicked on "pbsvc.exe" and chose to unninstall, then I removed the files. Dunno if you can remove all of them immediately, but better go for the safe side.

Hope it helps! ;)

Edit:
just tested it, and it works :)
