Hmm

Ok, so I got it wrong, I should have said, to minimise the forward weight tranfer off the rear... doh.

See you all Monday.

OMG just seen your times - you really have to slow down a lot to give us a chance on Monday :)

Deetz

:D

I'm sure you will have caught up by Monday Neys.

Yeah. Crazy lap time  If I managed to make all good sectors on the same lap, I might be able to do 1.49.xx.

BTW. Have you noticed the car is stolen. There is no key. It must have been started from wires :g:

Deetz

New PB tonight 1:47:877

Set for anyone who wants to try it.

Thanks for the set, Deetz. I am almost 2 seconds behind (if I get a perfect lap, taking 100% of the track's risks). I compared my laps against your 1:48, and it seems that there is no specific corner I am messing up, but more or less all of them. It almost feels like I'm driving another car... You must know some tricks with this bull I am not aware of :)

Neys

OK, finally a 1:48.4 here after *a lot* of practicing. Interestingly, top speed on my lap was 207 km/h, while Deetz's top speed for his 1:48.0 was 200 km/h. :g: See you tomorrow!

Deetz

Well I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed last night's racing, which was more dominated by errors, than outright speed (though that always helps).

Unfortunately Neys had game performance issue's, with very poor frame rate, probably caused by the huge hi-res textures used by the Muira, so had to bow out early. Unlucky mate.

My hero of the evening award goes to Aquilifer, for driving with a setup, that to put it simply, just looked evil, twitchy and oversteering everywhere. Still, he was managing some reasonable lap times.

It was surprisingly difficult to overtake, as long as the car in front didn't make mistakes, thankfully everyone (myself included) was making mistakes in this difficult to master car, so overtaking was possible.

I (almost) felt sorry for the people leading, who binned it on the last lap, especially one driver, who crashed on the 2nd last corner of the last lap. (ouch) So I bagged a couple of extra wins, I didn't expect.
It was always worth continuing, even after a couple of big offs, as there was always a good chance the opposition would fall off some time before the end of the race.

To top off a good evening for me, I just managed to get the top time on the server. :narnar:

Seany proposed another cracking sounding combo for next week, but Ill let him reveal it.

Classic F1 time again!  I have been looking for a track that will suit this car for a while.  I got around to having a go on Prato Long, the old NetKar Pro track, and it seems very nice.

Great racing with the Lambo, that thing is a right handful!   I almost won one! :taz:

Aquilifer

The last combo was great. I liked Miura after learned bit of its character. The first corner of the track was tricky for me - I messed quite a few laps by taking a detour through the sand pit

Are you sure it wasn't just my driving :lmfao: I had no chance against Neys or Deetz (as long as they stayed on the road). My great moment was when I finally managed to lap under 1:50.0 :yahoo:

Not much racing yesterday (confusion with track versions to blame mostly I think), but still, I had a blast with the Ferrari.  Very good car!   Also, we had an LFS racer we haven't seen in a long time on with us.  It was great to have you on with us Spikey Marco, hope you can join us again!

Combo choice by Neys this week, looks like a good 'un.

Newest car in Assetto on a very nice German track.  I highly recommend trying it on it's proper tires (Street 90's). Obviously not as quick, but I think it's more interesting.

Neys

I really love that RUF. Thanks for your suggestion about the street tyres. I've tried them and they pretty much feel like driving the snow covered roads at my place compared with the semislicks :) Great fun!

Another topic: I'm thinking about setting up a weekly event for the AC combos pretty much similar to what we had in LFS. I'm currently thinking of having a 10 minutes qualification, a sprint race of about 15 minutes and afterwards a long race of 45 to maybe 60 minutes. It would be either on Wednesday or Tuesday. I'd like to hear your opinions about the idea, would you be interested in attending?

Seany

Yeah, I'm really enjoying this Porsche,  it is very precise.  There is not really any under steer at all, even in the default set up.  It is so easy to catch too.

I think that sounds like a great idea.  I would come along if I am around for sure.  As with LFS, I would probably not take part in many of the long races, or at least not a full one anyway (My wrist and shoulder cant take it any more, captain! Who knows maybe we get driver swaps too one day :) ) .  As with the Monkeys Sunday event though, I would definitely join in for qualification and the sprint race.  Out of Wednesday and Tuesday, I would be most likely to be around on Wednesday, I think.  But either day is cool, even if it's Tuesday I'll still be able to do quite a few events.  Any idea of what time where you thinking of running it at?

I think this will be quite popular, there will be a lot of interest from Assetto racers outside our community I feel.  Especially when they see the web site stats etc.

Aquilifer

Are we talking about the same car? For some reason RUF doesn't seem to handle like I would have expected. The front end has not much grip. This might be ok, but since the rear end is hard to make power slide (oddly), it is PITA to drive (and yes I have no abs or tc). Add that to the fact that the brakes don't seem to be match for the speed. I was expecting bit like Miura kind of experience but this is a sled going just straight. I'm beginning to wonder if the physics have gone nuts.

Long races in AC...maybe, but I would like to see some LFS like features (like forced pit stop).
