I can't seem to find the details right now. But apparently the Cutlass is getting a huge facelift. Anyone who has one won't be disappointed, however they are making them bigger.

A few concerns have already been razed though. Firstly, its not really a two seater dog-fighter anymore. Judging by the pictures (i'll try and get them), its more like a smaller version of the constellation. Secondly, the price will likely be reflected in this new change, people that have already got them are getting a bargain!

This raises a few more concerns for me though. Will this kind of effort be brought to bare on the Constellation (all models - as well as the base!), and the Freelancer? Its not the cost i'm thinking of here.

I've been tempted to upgrade my 325i to a Cutlass Black to shove a bit more support Chris Roberts way. I planned on doing it when the Cutlass is flyable but I might have to bring my plan forward if it's going to get a price hike, unless that increase is minimal.

I'm very happy with the one sat in my hangar, looking forward to seeing it evolve!

Seems rather strange that they would change the size, given it's a rather nice balanced idea already.

Yeah, they're re-working a lot of the original wave 1 ships, including the Constellation lineup.  They're all getting the modular treatment apparently.

It can only be a good thing to be honest. I just hope they're even handed with it is all. Larger ships are more realistic, however, if people bought a dog fighter...

Speaking of which if you have one you are able to fly it this week.  There is also a sale on the Blue var

Who said they were getting bigger? I know that there are some people who were saying this due to the pictures of a couple of the new modular interiors that Sandi released on her Facebook page, but it's already been confirmed that those pictures were using a camera with a wide viewing angle which distorted the apparent size.

Prices were always intended to go up, and they may well use the modularity feature as an excuse to up the price, but I'll wait and see.

Regarding the classification, I don't see how it has changed tbh. I've never thought of it as a two seater fighter in any case...more of a three seater (pilot, nav/weapons and a turret gunner).

i just think that following the new changes there will simply be more things that you will be able to do with the Cutlass.

I know it was shot in a wide angle. As for the fighter business you'd only need to look at the advert they posted for the cutlass range. I'm not bothered about it changing. I'm just sure there are going to be a lot of complaints regarding a perceived change in role.

Sorry, but I've gone over the advert again and still don't see what the issue is.  I still don't see any change in role, perceived or not.

What am I missing?

Speed and agility?

Seriously though. Haters gonna hate and all that. People will complain about anything. There are other chassis that have been on the line for being 'redesigned' and update for a lot longer than this. But from testing the water and speaking to a few people - the run down is this:
- Its no longer a dogfighter: It wasn't meant to be a dog-fighter to begin with, however, the blue was meant to be a defence boat in line with a role (if thats the right word) similar to the Avenger.

- Its going to get bigger: As already stated, the angle used to pitch the redesign was wide, but its likely that it will have to increase in size. This has happened to many of the ships so far.

I'll be honest. I don't care what they do with it. The more variety of ships the better in my opinion. Plus we've all signed up to an unfinished product and i'm fine with that. I have one thing to say though.... please, PLEASE take out the god damn hot tub :D

Ah, I see, yeah you're right people do seem to get their knickers in a twist over what ends up being nothing.

i got me a Black with a Blue upgrade, so I'm still pondering whether or not to apply it :)

Galatoni

Noone is taking it away from you. Hang on to it ;)

If they change the size/role of a ship I bought I am going to be cross.

While I'm now quite keen to get hold of one. I didn't go for it originally as it seemed too small and not vastly different from the Hornet or my 325i. If it's going to pitch in as a half way house between the single seater fighters and the Freelancer I'd be happy. However I do think it's not fair on people like Tut who bought X and might end up with Y. Maybe a brand new ship would be better?
