Possible new server

Hello there everyone who reads this. I am having fun playing on the Minecraft but i have got to the state where sadly the Vanilla Minecraft is now getting a tad bit boring. So I wanted to know if I would be able to start my own Minecraft server ? Using me own money and this is so you don't have to change the massive server that you own and have made some brilliant builds on.

So if I do and this is a if so far, would you be okay with me making one and doing it in DMW fashion, like I said it would be done out my own money for aslong as people play it. The idea behind its making a bigger server that we can do more on with the use of Mods. If you have a problem with this then please say by I intent to run it like this groups does your own server, so all DMW members can join it after joining a whitelist for the sever.

I think I will need help with this tho as it seems like a big thing to set up and learn to use ? So if I could get help with this if I do make to that would be amazing

We're an inclusive community Rogue so why not, in the first instance, speak to Sulky (who leads on Minecraft for the community) and discuss your ideas on how to put a bit more oomph into our server?

I don't want to change your because so many people have done things in it, I would like a new server for people who wants maybe a harder game and a mod where there are loads more things to do In it due to the mods that we could install to the game. Add said he would help due to him once owning a server but still could do with more help. I will talk to sulky when I get a chance as long as he ain't to angry with me lol

i am looking at getting the new server form here https://mcprohosting.com/ aand was going to get a plan for 25 people at 1024 mb ( what ever that means ) it works out at about Â£6.50 a mouth. i just need to work out how to do it is all the website seems very friendly and easy to use. one of the main things i will need help with mods, they seem to do mod pack that we can make so i was wondering what mods would people want to see or play on this new server ?

I'm not totally sure how easy it is to set up a server but I'm all for it. Would it be creative mode etc?

To be honest I can't see any real reasons against it. My only concern would be that i have been public mc servers and it can be a frustrating place to be, especially when people destroy stuff you have built.

A couple of things from me, if my spelling is crap it's cause I'm on the tube typing this.

could we as a community afford to buy one these servers?
can we run 2 instances of mc from our box?
can we flip between 2 different mc on our box?
would it be open or pass worded?

all things that would need to be looked at. Thanks for the offer of buying a server rogue, I'll have a chat with oldies you and anyone else that has some thoughts v soon

what i was thinking was a normal minecraft server with mods so it will be on survival mode, but have certain mods to enhance and give players more to do. one mod i am very interested in adds buildable rocket ships and the ability to go to the moon. so it would play like a normal minecraft game so you start kill an animal and then build a mud hut to live it while night time passes but in the later game you will be finding rare ores and items to build more advanced items like a space ship or more depending on what mods we get

well let me try this out my way to start with please, i will get a server form this website they seems very nice and easy to do. they also provide a lot of help to help set up the server.

it ain't going to be public, i want us to play it and that's it no non DMW people. it would only be fore us and that's it . i think i can set it to have a password on it and that should allow us to play on our own.

if i buy it we can all then try it out and see if we like it or if its a waste of time and money if so then we dont have to get one haha, but its something i want to try non the less

i aint sure yet what mods i was hoping people would have ideas for mods to try out.

Please wait before spending money. We can add mods to our existing (private) server so long as the player base are happy to do so.

Agreed that it should still be dMw only I don't see MC as a major recruiting tool tbh.

It is possible to run different MC servers from one box - easiest with different IPs but can also be achieved using ports.

I'd humbly suggest we set up another if we can and use that to 'play' with with mods etc. That way we still our our pure exciting world for the serious stuff and a play one for mods and everything else.

Just my 2 cents and up to Sulks (and Oldie) really.

There are public servers that host different mini-games in different worlds on the same server and you get to each individual world through a portal from a central hub. Is it possible for DMW to do something like that? where we have a central lobby with a portal to the current map, one to a world with mods, maybe one for my UHC idea. not quite sure how it happens exactly but it keeps everything together and reasonably simple ... i think
