Hey guys, for those who like their watches, could you recommend a reliable UK dealer where I can order online? I am looking for certain Casio but it is out of stock in Czech Republic and won't be stocked again.

Thank you

Any particular model ?

Not sure how this lines up in terms of price but on a Dutch site: https://www.brandfield.nl/g-shock-limited-edition-full-metal-case-horloge-gmw-b5000d-1er

Found it on a another more dodgy looking site for 50% higher.

Do you need to buy it online? If not then I'd start with authorised high street distributors - in the case of Casio companies such as H Samuel, Goldsmiths or John Lewis. Shops with a larger high street presence may get more allocations and you (potentially) get access to the centralised stock profile. If they have waiting lists then join them in a few different stores (this covers them if they're franchises as opposed to company owned).

I think this was only launched in Basel in April so demand will be big but hang in there. Have you called Casio to see what they suggest? There's a dedicated GShock distributor in London - 0207 494 2884.

Apart from that not sure. Patience though. I've waited over 3 years for a watch before....

Good luck

@albert thank you, the price is correct, is that a known store?

@Penfold thanks for info, I would be very happy to buy at High Street but I am in Czech Republic so I don't have access to UK shops, that is why I am looking for online reliable store. I have call Czech Casio distributor and they said all the stock is gone and there won't be more :( Thank you for the number, I will try calling that. What was the watch that you have waited for for 3 years? :)

I've personally never used them but also I've never heard anything bad about them. I suppose do a bit of internet reputation checking before deciding. They may not even deliver to CZ.

Apologies. I didn't realise you weren't in the UK. If we find one in the UK, I don't mind helping you get it and then ship it to you - or, of course, you could come to the LAN :-)

Which of the three are you looking for (silver, black or gold) and I'll keep my eye out?

No worries Pen, I used to live in the UK for quite some time. I was when I joined DMW, god time flies :) That would be amazing, I am after the full silver ones GMW-B5000D-1ER, as long as it has the regular international warranty, you know official dealer etc. What are you favorite watches? I also have Seiko Black Monster which I am very keen on and some other Gshocks. But my wishlist is endless oO

albert

I like Skagen, Tag, Casio, Alpine and I do own a 30 year old Switch. :norty:

Nothing expensive or fancy, stuff I can wear although I wouldn't mind putting a bit of money into a few investment watches.

Nice watch, I bet if you like that style you also like the Seiko Prospex Green Turtle?

I love the Seiko 5 range, especially some of the mods you can do on them.  One of my favourites is the Blanc Pain homage 55 Fathoms mod with the blue dial.

Also have a soft spot for some of the Casio Ediface range, cheap as chips relatively speaking.

Two watches I have been lusting after for the past two years and just about managed to stop trading for:

Squale Atmos 1521 matte on a blue nato strap or the Squale leather strap.

Tudor Heritage range Black Bay Bronze Blue - this is my favourite watch at the moment, I just love the bronze and the blue combo.

You can lose yourself in watches, but good ones can almost be bought on an almost self-convincing "it's an investment" argument.  If you trade the watch in after a couple of years the actually loss is quite small if you buy carefully.

Love the Tudor, very classy in blue and gold. (Excuse the size, phone seemed to go mad on that!)

Yeah, great watch.

For comparison with the Seiko FFF mod, here's the original Blanc Pain Fifty Fathoms with the blue dial.  All $12,000 of it.  I prefer the Mercedes hands though that the mod has.

Aye Tudor is great. I find it strange so few people know the brand or that they’re a sister company to Rolex. Am looking for a Tudor Heritage Black Bay which I think looks fantastic.

I really wish I could wear a watch at work. Not being able to seriously limits possible 'usage time's and that puts me off getting something nice. I don't think I'd use one enough at home to really justify it :/
