Really looking forward to the reveal of OCS affecting fps in game, for those who haven't been keeping up, it's the core tech behind not having to load the whole system and everything in it all at once and all the time, Object Container Streaming should provide a massive performance increase across the board, so if you've been rocking 25fps on a good day like me, we should see this comfortably reach the 60's+ with reports of the game hitting fps over 100 coming in from the evocati avocados.

The PTU for 3.3 will apparently made open to all backers at Citizencon so that'll be Friday some time, and that build will have OCS, so it'd be fantastic joining anyone who's keen for some more shenanigans once it's live :D
(I'll not download it at the Lan don't worry  )

I understand the enormity of the tech surrounding OCS and all of its benefits, and I'm glad that it's finally in, but I can't help but feel that this year's CitizenCon livestream was a bit of a lacklustre affair for me.  I don't think I saw anything that made me want to fire up my PC and get playing.

I think the additional performance we get with OCS is a big deal, but I think its impact was lessened a great degree by the postponing of the content that requires it, namely Hurston/Loreville and the truck stops.  Hopefully it should only be a few more weeks before that drops, and a few more after that for ArcCorp.

The Kraken looks awesome, as does the Valkyrie - both of which I'd love to buy, but feel I've already spent far too much already!

FOIP looks like a lot of fun, and the freelook you get with it for free is a nice touch.

Personally, I haven't actually played since 2.4, and am finding it increasingly difficult to get my enthusiasm to the point where I want to even download the latest patch.  That said, once 3.3 is live, we shall have to arrange a few evenings to suss out the grouping functions and control setups, and start to learn to fly all over again (seeing how the flight model seems to have changed yet again!).  Maybe playing with you guys will be the catalyst I need to get my enthusiasm going again.

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

3.3 is currently on the PTU - should be available for everybody to play.

This sums up my position too.

I'm in a good place to look at SC properly come the release of 3.3 (not PTU). I have a new PC and I'm bored with everything else I've been playing of late.

So I will most definitely be looking for any help/assistance in learning to fly particularly as I've decided to abandon my idea of using a HOTAS. Instead, I will be using a left-handed joystick with mouse, keyboard, voice-attack and Roccat Powergrid.

Do you have a preferred grid you like to use?  I messed about with this a couple of years back but didn't really take it anywhere myself, so I'd be interested in hearing other people's use of it.

Not really because, like you, I played around with it in the past and liked the idea of a simple controls interface using touch.

I find the powergrid and a tablet just a faff, too much to go wrong at the wrong moment.
Yeah, I understand where you’re coming from, and I also hear that support for PowerGrid is no longer what it used to be.

Personally, I’m thinking about maybe getting the Elgato Stream Deck: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/community/citizen-spotlight/11967-Star-Citizen-Icons-For-Stream-Deck
It’s a tad expensive, but it’s solid and it works (my sone uses one for streaming and raves about it).
