Dr Sadako

The reason for me suggesting to kick him might seem harsh but it was a way of getting the discussion on its way and hopefully make many to participate in it.

GhostMjr needs a babysitter. He constantly annoys me with his spamming replies to our forums. If you compare to DA (in his good old days) I think he is in the same league and then some. I wouldn't mind if he sometimes made some sense or had some relevance in his posts. That is what bugs me. This I can live with BUT when he goes on other forums and servers and spams away I feel really akward carrying the same tag as he does. On the CoFR FR25 server he has on more than one occasion made a fool out of himself and in turn us. If you decide to let him stay I suggest the following.

1. Send him a PM and explain his wrong doings.
2. Write a guideline in the Bravo section dealing with conduct and Bravo members relation to TCS.
3. Appoint a babysitter that can stand him long enough. <--- that is NOT me.  <_<
4. Pray that he gets the message ...

That's why I asked for a concise list of points for me to consider drafting into a PM.  My earlier posts tried, maybe too diplomatically, to indicate that throwing him out of Bravo was not really an option at this stage.  I asked for the concise list of points as it means that I do not have to edit and precis the previous posts - and it also gives a second chance to those who have commented to remove the emotional impact of some of the statements.  Posts minus emotion leaves something I can work on in a PM.

As I said, precis your problems, post them here - one liners or similar please, and I will then try to word something appropriate.  OB, I'll cc you to discuss before anything goes out.

Two penn'orth coming up.
He's a harmless idiot. Ignore him. If it wasn't him it would be someone else that gets up ones nose. Given that the policy of 'come on in, grab a tag' has swelled our ranks immensely, maybe we should be more picky about who we let in. Although my irritation with the guy ranks along Smite's, I don't think he's the worst.  <_<
Perhaps we ought to go back to selecting people we like, rather than inviting applicants willy nilly. On reflection, if he's the worst, then we've been lucky. The bigger a community is, the bigger the chance of there being dickheads in it.
Mmm, three penn'orth.

Realise that when you are wearing the dMw tag your actions will reflect upon the entire community.

Comments regarding rules in TCS should be left to admins. That is what they are there for.

Learn the TCS rules and ethos. If you are unsure ask. There are players within dMw that have played PCS/TCS for more than 3 years now. Appreciate their knowledge.

Because you can post a comment in the forum doesn't mean you have to. Friendly banter is appreciated but relevant comments are more appreciated.

I was drafting a reply in word when I went back to the forum for quotes etc I noticed Sadako had posted and he seems to have summed up all I was going to say.
(See Mats post above gfk’s)

I don’t post very often as I too have a problem with spelling, grammar, wording things, etc.
so I only post when I really think I have something to say  .. This could work for Mjr too.

I would just like to say I too agree with Sadako/Smite/Ron/Ghost regarding mjr’s behaviour on the forum and servers,
not just the hook but all servers he play’s on wearing the dMw tag.

I do feel Ron as some good points.
If we are not that picky on who we give the tag too, we are going to get some rouges.
So we either be more selective or be more prepared to throw the odd one out now and again,
if they don’t quite get to grips with TCS and what wearing the dMw tag means.
I always wear my tag with pride and act in the correct manner when playing on servers or visiting forums.
This is what iam sure some of them just don’t get (mjr is one of them, but iam sure he's not alone)

1. Don't post just because you can.
2. Don't post just because you can.
3. If unsure about posting Refer to 1 and 2.
4. If you are going to advise somone in the rules of TCS make sure you know them first.
5. Do not come onto a server and demand map changes.
6. Do not bring the dMw tag into disrepute in another forum or server by flaming/TW/TKing.
7. Don't wear a pen around your neck you look a nob.

QuoteDear GhostMjr

The Admins have been discussing a number of issues that have occurred recently which have had an impact in some way upon dMw in a less than positive way. Several members of Alpha or Bravo were mentioned and your name was amongst them. The details of the discussions are private, but can I take this opportunity to remind you of the following:

  • Please realise that when you are known as a dMw member or are wearing the dMw tag that your actions will reflect upon our entire community. So when you post in another forum, play on another server, or just kick around in irc, your behaviour and attitude towards others should always be exemplary, particularly when the dMw wings are attached to your name. Far more people than you realise know of dMw and the information and feedback we receive from other clans or admins comes from far and wide. When you TW or TK someone on another server because they were ticking you off you'd be amazed at just how often the story gets passed back to us! Your actions have a direct impact upon dMw's reputation!
  • TCS grew out of PCS and the community has a core of players that have played this style of CS for over 3 years now.  Healthy debate is always encouraged, hence we have active TCS section on the forums, but beware of posting up answers to TCS questions where you yourself do not fully understand TCS yet.
  • Our forums see well over 100 new posts every single day. Many of the forum topics are not seen by Alpha or Bravo Company members as they are private to Charlie, Delta, Admins, TCS Admins, match squads etc. So as a member of Bravo you see about half the forum topics that are there. So for a dedicated Charlie Company member or Admin you can imagine that it can take some considerable time to read through all of the posts on the forums each day. Now ask yourself how other dMw members feel when they come across one of your regular nightly sessions of 'posting a reply to every single topic on the forum'. There have been some occassions when substantial numbers of replies have been posted, almost none of which made any positive contribution to the thread. Friendly banter is good but relevant comments are appreciated more, so don't post a reply or comment *just* because you can!
Setting my Clan Leader hat to one side for a moment I would like to make a personal comment. The other day you contacted me via MSN for help with your computer. I know that you publicly thanked me for my time on the forums and I appreciate that, but you should also know that my initial response when you contacted me was that you were bloody rude! You just delivered a curt message to me with a 'demand' to fix *your* problem. As it happens I was in the middle of some client work, but you never bothered to say hi, ask if I was busy or would mind sparing the time, you never even said thanks until the forum post afterwards! So my advice to you is to try to think a little more about how others perceive your actions - how would you feel if those things were done/said/written to or about you? Go work on those interpersonal skills!

I know this PM may come as a bit of a shock to you, but please take it in the right spirit. The above comments are not general knowledge outside the admins and will remain private. But they are serious comments we urge you to consider. We want to encourage positive participation in the community, but sometimes it seems you need to just hold yourself in check a little ;)

See you on the servers.

After your email i was slightly shocked! To begin with i was annoyed with my hdd and didn't meant to offend you. I find it rather strange that you have accused me of the incident on the cofr servers when you have not actually contated me to hear my side of the story! If you were in my position I think you would have permently banned the NUMPTY clan and I find this almost untrue that I seem to have been given the sole blame! I don’t recall having any email or pm and am surprised to find I am the convict when I was the one being put off and vc spam which was extremely rude! As no actal dmw members were actually there I think this discussion should be deleted and a formal apology made to myself! Obviously the story has been extrapolated and I do not like being the blame for something I was the sole victim of!
Posting on the forum I think is great and I enjoy it! I don’t know how the admins came to the conclusion as I am a spammer but this is not what I intend to do! I intend to make a contribution to the clan not to spam! If they don’t like my spam as they so put it mayb they shouldn’t be in dmw as looking through the forums isn’t a chore and I am making it longer but an active community!
The TCS section ok might be for professional talk but I think ppl can make contributions so it can adapt not stay in the same format and fall apart!

I await your reply!

No problem, it is not something I hold as a grudge (I am not like that), I was just using it as an example of how you can sometimes come across to other people.  If it is of interest, I have had similar accusations thrown at me in the past and it hasn't killed me yet ;)

We haven't actually accused you of anything specific - we never mentioned the CoFR incident.  If you feel the CoFR incident is relevant to the comments we made then I am sure you will reflect further upon this.  As our comments were deliberately generic we did not apportion blame (if any) to anyone and certainly not to you 'solely'.  Had we wished to make any event-specific comments then then yes we would have undertaken further investigation and would have discussed the specifics with those individuals concerned.  For the moment we felt a quiet word was sufficient based upon our collective experience.  As for deleting discussions, I admit to being confused - to which discussions are you referring? (is there a specific url?)

Nobody concluded that that you were a spammer.  However we did mention that sometimes you seem to post a reply to practically every thread on the forum, often witout actually saying anything.  You are not the first person we have had to mention this to and I guarantee you won't be the last!  We even posted some guidelines  to try to regulate it!  We know that there is always going to be a certain amount of 'banter', but we try to make sure that the entire forum does not become littered with 'quantity', we prefer 'quality'.  When you post something ask yourself if it passes the 'quantity' or quality' test.  As an aside, the first person we had to have a word with about this type of posting behaviour is now a dMw Admin!

I would not have been able to reply in the calm manner you did so hats off.

I really don't want to comment on his reply.... but i am glad that you took this on as i really don't have the control to reply to his return PM.

Well done and nicely put.
