AWP rant!

I agree with Armitage, when it gets above 18 i usually leave because it just gets ridiculous.  Just my opinion.

TBH I think it depends on the map. Some maps will be OK with that number while others are a nightmre. IMHO :)

I would be happy for maxplayers to be dropped to 20. Even that's a bit high but a balance has got to be struck between the amount of players wanting to play and PCS gameplay.

It is recognised as an issue and the admins are looking at all possible solutions.

We played bitterwine with 20 ppl on the server tonight and it was no problem at all. Piranesi is another map the easily holds that many players. The problem as I see it is when that high number of players are on and there is no admin there are always map change problems. Some people don't want to play e.g. bitterwine even though that map, piranesi and volare are basically the only maps that really are able to hold that many players. Sure there are maps that have spawn points for 32 players but the map isn't suited for 16 vs 16 in PCS mode or even 12 vs 12.

But going down to 20 slots is a good thing if we in the same time open up Baldric for PCS play also (when we aren't playing matches). We have had many nights the resent weeks were ppl haven't been able to come in on MH cause there were 24 players on. I have experienced it on 2 different occations.

TL's commercial tour selling MH have payed off. The server is overwhelmed by Swedes.  8O   :lol:  :D

As is my oppinion with many matters I have no problems with a server with 24 players on..... its just a different game.... tends to slow things down if anything!

If however your a player who cant resist being the fisrt one shot cos you've watched too many A-Team gun battles then yes, I can understand why you would not like it.

24 slots isn't a problem for me. It just leads to a different style of game play that is arguably a little more frantic and a little less skill based. However it would be a shame to have to split everyone off into two servers.

On the other hand some maps are rubbish for large teams and the vote map last night was a bit hit and miss, with some frankly dumb ideas. 24 players on dust would be interesting for a huge firefight in the mincer but little else.

I'm not sure there would be a significant difference between 20 and 24. There is a specific style of play when you are 5-5 or 6-6 that is different to 10-10 plus. But I don't see much difference between 10-10 and 12-12. Unless the server wass capped at 12 slots (a daft idea) I don't this it would make much difference.

Maybe a few more senoir DMW's could be given limited admin to enable them to select suitable maps?

I'm obvioulsy only a visiting player with no say as to how the DMW organise themselves so this is just an observation icon_smile.gif

Last night i tried to get people to tell me what map would be good due to everyone complaining to which nobody replied.
The issue map was Assault now assault is hard for CT there is no doubt but that makes it more fun. I enjoy playing Assault with a lot of people. and even when i was trying to even the teams people still moaned.

Bear in mind that for admins it is hard to decide on a map that everyone is going to enjoy..the last time i changed the map due to people being unhappy i got flamed in public on the forums instead of someone  mentioning it to me with a personal message to find out the reason. this is why i didnt just change the map.
Experienced PCS members Please help the admins out by giving advice on a map to play instead of just complaining.

Also if you do have an issue with an admin ask him in a private message first to fully understand his reasons.

No it isnt sorry ....people please read the map boundaries again as even i forgot some last night (bitterwine) and left to confirm them, i have to admit i thought they were different.

In terms of gameplay - I agree. The reason I suggested a max of 20 is that all CS maps support 20 spawn points. This makes map selection an easier task for the admin.

The other thing to remember is that the server is already set up to allow anyone to start map vote by issuing the relevant command in console.  E.g.  admin_vote_map de_volare

1st - SMITE im soz if i upset u. from my point of view i rush'd the AWPist. i wasnt to far over the "no go area" it was a decision among the team not just myself. then due to the bomb being dropped i called the rest of the team over.

2nd - i am a real believer that 24players is far 2 much 20 is really quite a bit for pcs [imo].

if the server could b split, is this possible? then a couple of 12/14 player servers may be better for pcs play as this is as close to matches as we could get, this is just a sugestion.

Personaly i would like less players.

Tho i am happy with the current AWP rules (normaly use a scout ne how :D)

I agree with Frenzy and sheepy it is getting too busy to the point i leave.
Teamwork seems to go out the window for all out rushes. A good fun game for me is with 6-8 players a side. People who find the server busy could go over to baldric but most people want to play against the old time regulars....
Question: If the server is busy should dMw get preference to newcomers?
