Oh, and those pictures made me drool Dewey :dribble: :D

Avis (car rental service) in Germany have what they call FunCars. That means for instance a Porsche 911 Carrera S or convertible and various Mercedes stuff. AND IT ONLY COSTS â,¬199 (abt. £ 140) for a 24 hour rental including 200 km!!!!

I'm definitely going to Germany this summer.

If you're coming near the Dutch border let me know. You're allways allowed to drop by then (especially in a car like that!!!).

Sure thing. But I was actually thinking about taking it to the Nordschleife. Not to race the car, but to see the track in real life in a cool car :)

The only downside is that every additional km over the 200 is â,¬ 1...

Your not thinking of taking a rental car on the Ring are you? *brave man* If you have an accident in it, you won't be covered on the insurance - could be expensive!

Well, as I said I'm not going to crank the living tango out of it, trying to beat that RUF Yellowbird! I don't think I'll even be pushing 50% - believe me, I'm not going to crash a Porsche let alone a rental one ;)

But the ring is one of the very few places where you can push the car just a little without fearing the police, smashing into oncoming cars or running down people or cattle or rabbits etc. We don't have that option here in Denmark, where the government absolutely hate cars...

Of course, an accident doesn't have to be one's own fault... oh damn you... you gave me second thoughts!!!  :ranting:  :D

I got a nice Series III long wheelbase Safari Landrover, diesel, free-wheeling hubs, over-drive and seats! Take on your girly cars anytime  ;)
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

I have a Triumph Dolomite Sprint, and a 2003 Polo, but will shortly have no license I expect depending on the vagaries of the British Justice system.

I really wouldn't risk it to be honest, theres a lot of crashes on the Ring, not surprising as theres a lot of crap cars that go on there and worse drivers who don't know the circuit, aren't used to driving on track and can't concentrate for the 10minutes your driving, plus their technical ability- I'm not saying I wouldn't want to try it, but it would have to be in my own car.

My step dad used to have dolomite sprint, nice car when the engine worked  :)  Have you been caught speeding?

Yeah, twice, and as its within the first two years of passing the test, I only have 6 availiable points. It was only 37 in a 30 from a mobile unit, so I'm hoping I'll just get a lecture from the Plod and a days safety course. Otherwise it'll be test re-take time.

In my defence it was a fast moving 4 lane road, the most unconvincing 30 mph zone ever. I did phrase that rather badly though. I meant only in terms of the punishment that one recieves for the transgression, i.e. not a ban.
