Quote from: Lameduck;247016Whist on the subject of new PC's, can you recall if I mentioned to Doorz  that I'd ordered a new computer? :poster_oops::getmecoat:

:g: Not that I can recall.

Ooohh.. that looks awesome! Real pedals and stuff. :woot2: To be honest I'd have thought it would be more expensive than that.

Some of you Brits should head over and at least have a look!

Not sure if this a right topic to post, but I have been looking for this racing for some time and would like to try. But how heavy is the LFS for computer ?
I have an old driving wheel + pedals in the closet, but my new pc doesn't support the old game input. And I'v read that adapters won't work with that driving set I have. So I'm thinking about running the game with my old setup when I get the router(for shared internet connection) I want :)
Welcome to IRC #deadmen @quakenet

delankster

lfs is a processor dependant game so as long as your old setup as a reasonable chip in it you should be able to run it
It is better to stay quiet and act the fool, than to say something and remove all doubt

About the input: you can buy a little adapter that trasnforms it into a USB plug. Don't know what it's called, but they are cheap and you can get them at Clas Ohlson for example. :)

Do you mean it's a game port device? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_port

If you have free PCI port you could put in an old sound card. You should be able to find one for free or almost for free if you ask geeks around you.

Your PC should be ok if you play other games with dMw.

THIS may be what you're looking for.

just bought myself one of these, had the game seat chair before but with the nixim break mod and a back problem due to the seating position decided it wasnt really the best setup(peddles would slip). so decided on a gameracer elite

http://gameracer.co.uk/detail.aspx?ID=109

Ted at gameracer is a really decent chap, i went to the gameracer workshop and tried different options,  they are very solid with no flex on the frame quite a heavy unit and a great seat to,

as soon as i have it all set up i will take a pic and place on forum.:yahoo:

Cool! Make sure to share your experiences -- I'm sure there are others who consider buying a seat, too.

I'm still waiting for my Rinoseat to arrive.. it's been, what, 7 weeks now since I ordered it??? Apparently it was stuck in customs for a few weeks and is due to arrive any day now. But still, that's just WAY too long. :ranting2:

That looks great! :) And you even got it in time for the long race too -- perfect timing! I like the custom gearknob, too.
