The senior admins are currently conducting an exercise to make the Dead Men Walking membership structure more appropriate for a multi-section gaming community such as ours. Our roots in CounterStrike are still reflected in a lot of our documentation. We will ensure that they will become generic and capable of being applied to all the games we support - now and in the future.

We have looked at the number of inactive Bravo and Charlie members and, with a broad brush, moved them to Alpha. Anyone who feels they have been moved inappropriately should appeal this decision to both TeaLeaf and OldBloke via PM.

The promotion structure is one area that will see a total rethink. So whilst this exercise is ongoing there will be no promotions within the community.

Jabbs

Always good to rethink and spring clean occasionally as it shows an active community rather than a stagnating one :D

Agreed Jabbs, should be interesting to see what other changes this will bring.

I doubt inactive people will complain too much. They might be confused when they next log on, but statistically that won't be for a while.
Good luck with the clean.

Got to say that I did check if my brothers were put to Alpha.
They're not active lately but they'll be back.

Bravo and Charly is in my eyes still something to be worthy off...

Not in the plan, no.

I think it's still in the dMw Community Structure thread though

Well, the change haven't been applied yet (as we haven't been informed of the exact changes) and thus the old one is still there. Delta was a temporary thing for dMw when some were very actively playing matches.

Bravo and Charlie is something that is earned, but its not fair to expect to be keeping it if you dont show yourself for ages. Fair move. :)

Personally i think this is a pretty strong move to take. Certain members have worked hard for their bravo and charlie status and simply because they are inactive they shouldn't be demoted imho. I can see the reason for the move but surely if you had been inactive for a few months came back and realised that you had been demoted i'd be pretty annoyed.

I remember a few months ago at Tealeaf's bbq last year Doorman myself and Smilodon were discussing the clan structure as it currently is. They thought that it was good to have charlie and bravo structures as you were guaranteed a constructive and enjoyable game of cs but the groups were getting too large.

Thats my 2 pence.

No appeals yet. Also, Bravo/Charlie members who were still regularly contributing to the forum but not gaming were not demoted.

Fair enough Ghosty but may I remind you that the standards:

Bravo:

QuoteThe player must have consistently demonstrated good teamwork, knowledge of the TCS rules and an active presence on the forums.
Charlie :

QuoteCharlie Company members are expected to make an ongoing and positive contribution to the community
The people dropped from Bravo and Charlie have been absent from both the foums and the game servers for a lot longer than a few months.
