with 2011 now finished :crying: now is the wait for 2012 season, but with a huge obstacle in the way

Yes, that obstacle is that of the greedy people of 'Sky', which should be added to the swear filter. So with that in mind, I will rename it 'Wayne'

Does anyone know of a way to watch F1 live without Wayne sports? i.e. over the tinternet? was thinking that if I can get a foreign feed, I could watch it, mute it, and listen to radio 5 live :g:

I am heavily interested in this thread also.

I rid myself of Wayne Sports last year, ****ed off that the match (football/Cricket) that I wanted to see was switched to Wayne Sports2 or 3.
This afternoon I watched L'pool v Man City on t'internet for free, quality not great, but watchable.
This is my source http://www.footballstreaming.info/streams/todays-links/

o doubt there are similar sites pointing to F1 etc.

I too have no interest in giving Wayne sports anymore money than they screw out of people already & I don't want to go back to the days of watching f1 with ad breaks in either.

i thought it was 1 50/50 thing between wayne and bbc...i thought we were getting half of it at least and highlights for the other 1/2

from bbc sport

QuoteThe BBC and Sky Sports will broadcast Formula 1 in the UK between 2012 and 2018 under a new rights deal. The BBC has been the exclusive broadcaster of F1 in the UK since 2009 but its contract with Formula One Management was due to expire after the 2013 season.
Sky Sports will show every race, qualifying session and practice live.
BBC Sport will broadcast half the races live, as well as the qualifying and practice sessions from those races.

50% of the races will be on the BBC with highlights at around 1pm, by that time, I would of incidentally heard the results. The early races will be on Wayne, and that includes the first 2 opening races

the highlights will be 2 hours coverage, and seeing that the race limit is 2 hours which has come very close to in the past, I feel this cut down version will not satisfy my F1 needs

After 2018, I fear that Wayne could take full rights to the coverage as the number of people watching will fall due to this 'half season' approach and will not make it viable anymore for the BBC, and if they do, it will be Pay-per-view, maybe not straight after, but eventually it will.

Thus forking out 5 times to watch F1 live (Tv licence, Wayne, Wayne sports package, Wayne HD package, pay-per-view, and the possible 3D package making it 6)

I really don't want to pay Wayne anything, they get money from running 1000's of adds in every program & then you have to cough up a subscription too, screw em, I want nothing to do with them or whatever they show.

T-Bag

There will be no advert breaks in the grand prix, that's about the only good they've announced. Can you imagine if "Wayne" sports put an ad break randomly in a half of football and did the ITV trick of: "here's what you missed...we're replaying it so it's ok right?".

I won't be signing up for it. If I can use my parents skyplayer log in and stream it I will, otherwise I'll take to downloading the sky feed afterwards. I already miss most of the races when they stream (I catch about 50-60% when they're on) and just avoid facebook etc until I've caught up.

I'm constantly hearing that you need either Wayne HD or Wayne Sports to watch the new waynesports F1 channel, but it's not made very clear

http://f1.sky.com/#our-new-channel

it states:

'Full Wayne Sports & Wayne HD customers will be able to watch the channel for free and enjoy'

But if you look at the 3rd page, it lists the different options :g:

All the races will be on the beeb, some will just be a bit late, so that'll do for me. Should I really want to watch them all live I'm sure i'll find them somewhere.

I read those options as the current prices for the packages listed by "Wayne", not an additional cost for "Wayne Sports F1"...

I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on.

I read it as if you have either HD or Sports, you get it free. Other options were just about if you need to sign up to things.

The better way to do it would be if wayne sponsored F1 in some way and they insisted all the footage be recorded in 3D, that way there would be at least some motivation or reason for people to watch it there. At the moment there's none. It seems like they've plonked this years features on next years coverage and just required £30 a month spend with them. The BBC was already covering the races in HD, I don't see any extra value in the premium.

I just priced up getting TV through virgin media just out of curiosity along the lines of "What if I could get virgin TV and not pay a TV license would it be worth it. Short answer No. Long answer: Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Christ it costs a lot, and they still haven't announced if skys F1 will be on virgin yet...

Some new info on presenters & which races the beeb will have -

Nice video of the new MP4-27a with Jake & BBC's new signing, ex-Technical Director Gary Anderson who gives some really nice technical background to some of the changes made.

On a personal note, at least the MP4-27a looks nice.  The alternative slab nose that is appear looks truly horrible (although arguably better from an aero-devlopment point of view).
