Well, as this is all going to happen in 2013, Hamilton :dummy: moving to Mercedes :frusty: (and proving me right that he moves for money, not championships:rolleyes:) and Perez moving to Mclaren, the focus now moves to Schumacher, and there are whispers he will run a final year at Ferrari replacing Massa , with Vettel moving to Ferrari the following year, others say there has been long talks with a move to Sauber. http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/f1/opinion/schumacher-to-sauber/

I suspect Di Resta may have been approached by Ferrari though

Interesting!

Di Resta at Ferrari would be a good combo :thumb:

This isn't all about money. Being given offered a pay cut shows a lack of respect but this contract will take him into 2014 where the new engines come into play and those are being made by Mercedes. Mclaren has no guarantees of performance with new technology. The team have always been there or thereabouts in the championship, but Red Bull and Brawn absolutely trounced them in the past 3 years. That said, they've always consistently beaten Mercedes who tend to lack development later in the season.

If Mercedes get the jump with the new engines and if they find investment they've certainly got the brains in the company to make a great car, even a championship winner.

I hope Ferrari find a replacement, I was crossing my fingers for Perez but they said he lacked experience, which I imagine puts Di Resta out of the picture too as they both came to the sport around the same time. Not really sure what choices they have other than grabbing Kovalainen or someone like that who has been stuck in a car at the back of the grid.

Hamilton working with Ross Brawn is a potentially awesome combo. Very interesting :)

Don't forget we're going to the Friday FP sessions in 2013 at the Silverstone circuit.   See dMw Events section for more details!

I thought Jake was pretty good, will be sad to see him go, much better than that wannabe Jake at sky, but I do like Suzi to, I don't know why :g: (can you imagine Couthard and Perry together?)

Looking ahead to the next season, BBC1 has anounced it's race coverage. No Monaco!

The BBC has confirmed its live coverage plans for Formula One races for 2013 with the broadcaster once again showing 10 races.

As was the case in 2012, the Beeb will not show the opening two races of the year in Australia and Malaysia with the first live race the Chinese Grand Prix on the weekend of April 14. Spain also remains on the list of races, but the Monaco Grand Prix, widely considered to be one of the sport's most prestigious events, doesn't feature with the Canadian race taking its slot.

The yet to be announced European race on July 21 is also among the races that will be shown as is the Indian GP.

BBC Live Races

China: April 14

Spain: May 12

Canada: June 9

Great Britain: June 30

TBA*: July 21

Belgium: August 25

Italy: September 8

Japan: October 13

India: October 27

Brazil: November 24

I think I'll be sticking with Virgin/Sky package.

Watching the testing on Sky.  Ferrari are trying to speed up their pitstops with the introduction of explosive wheel nuts. Not sure the experiment worked!

Correct, I made the call to go to sleep instead when I saw the forecast and I am sure glad I did!   But it's an easier call to make from ON than from the UK!

Will be staying up late tonight to watch Q2 and Q3, due to start at 12.00am midnight, so should be done by 1.00am UK time.

Luckiest people of Q1:

Hamilton - who only damaged his rear wing endplate instead of potentially damaging the suspension struts or gearbox
Massa - for still having anything at all attached to the front of his car, I watched the reply several times and still don't understand how the wheel/suspension were not ripped off
Raikonen - for getting through qualifying at all.   If he dropped just one more place and he'd have been watching qualifying instead of participating in Q2.

Loving the F1 mobile app (although the price is extortionate).   It seems that I can run the app on my tablet, watch the live coverage on TV and place a crafty bet for pole position using any 'purple' sector 1& 2 split times from the tablet.    Looking forward to see if I can jump one step ahead of the odds tonight!
