Aye TrackIR is not yet implemented, but it will be.

The thing that keeps blowing me away is that I enjoy the AC right now - yet there are so many things that they have not yet implemented or fine-tuned - and that means the game has the potential to be awesome in release form!

I was on the Kickstarter for ED, but only for the final released version. That TrackIR vid is a damn good advert.

Not many places selling it, just two that I can find and FlightStore seems to be the best at £139.99 for v5, hat clip and headset tracking dot frame, plus free delivery. Amazon is the same place and price, but are adding £2.99 for P&P.

Googling seems to find a 10% code for the armed forces, but nothing for us civies. Quick scan through my "Pilot" mags shows none either, :(

I still have a bad Electronic Arts feeling about Elite. All Star citizen required was $40.00 and for that you got the Alpha, Beta, single player game and multiplayer game. It was honest and straightforward. If you wanted to you could spend more, in fact you could spend thousands on the really big packages. But the important thing was you didn' have to and Chris roberts didn't expect you to. Elite however has had some really ugly pricing for early access to Alpha and beta and for me that smacks of and EA style model, which I don't like. £200 is obscene and really puts me off having anything to do with Elite. Maybe if we didn't have anything to compare it to I'd feel kinder towards the game. But with the 800lb gorilla that is Star Citizen sat next to it, doing a much better job and asking for a much smaller initial payment, Elite seems more like another grubby conduit to empty my wallet rather than a game made with passion and love.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

cant rate the track ir  enough i have the pro version, which is the hat clip and the headset tracker...is very very good, especially in arma and fsx, and yes i did take advantage of the 10% armed forces discount on amazon :narnar:

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Quote from: TeaLeaf;384691£100 for beta access seems extreme to me (yeah, I know about SC!), so I'll wait and see.

Remember that the Premium Beta also includes the £35 expansion pass or what it is called. The Beta does not, so you'll have to buy that later anyway if you want the expansions.

Exactly what I said earlier but in Euros for me. In the end I paid â,¬38 for the Beta part of the package which is the 6 months of gameplay I get out of it before it's actually released to the full version contributors. I've never done this type of pre-release thing before and wouldn't do it for an EA Game (Smilo) but if you look at the info and support that is being given to Elite alpha and beta testers as well as the press the game is getting, an EA experience is something that it's not. Maybe you're hoping it will be since you're not going to buy it, I hope for those of us who have or will your view turns out to be wrong :eyebrow:. Certainly doesn't feel like a wallet emptier to me. I prefer to pay a fair price and not be pulled into repeat payments for the lifecycle of the game. If the game has quality it will sell itself.

I'm just aware of Boons earlier comments about Braben. I'm not very confident in his motivation for making this game and the overly complicated pricing model isn't filling me with confidence. If it's a great game and sensibly priced I'd certainly be interested.  But if it's all access passes, premium this and premier that with loads of episodic content and DLC then I think I'll pass.

Just my thoughts, but I'm loving it. Sure the trading model is broken at the moment, and my combat skills suck, but there's something about the game that I find really engaging and so end up playing it a lot. For me it still has the feeling of the Beeb version, and the idea of being able to explore the galaxy is one reason it appeals to me, and I will be playing, hopefully, as a trader/explorer when more systems get added. If I want to fly around and shoot things up I'll play World of Warplanes. I shelled out for premium beta access through Kickstarter, which gives you more start options and not just the extras mentioned on this forum. I thought the cost worth it, just to get the game started, as did appoximately 10,000 others, and when you look at some other Kickstarter campaigns, not bad value for money. Don't know about TrackIR, but I borrowed a mates Oculus Rift and that just blew me away, so that is on my shopping list now. Just my tupenn'orth

I agree completely. ED is very close to have a complete functional game loop. Later this summer, I expect in the Beta, he says we will have matchmaking and friends lists. This and groups will make it possible to go fly with your friends. Even simple trading might be much safer with an escort.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow to see what they have for us in Premium Beta 2.
