Arma III Alpha

It's very impressive. Looks great, and runs pretty well on some very high settings. Much better than I was expecting to be honest.

It feels like a vastly more polished Arma 2, with some really nice tweaks here and there. Some screenshots from my brief mucking about:

There are two multiplayer missions included which look pretty good, I might run up a server later if anyone fancies a go.

I haven't benchmarked it, but it certainly feels smoother than A2.

bought as well, although read in one of the development blogs that if you can run OA you can run this, so looks like they are massively tweaking the engine...cant find the blog though

Weirdly, mine stops working after I quit - it won't launch the game again until I restart Steam.

Can someone explain to me the difference between the normal Alpha and the deluxe please.

What does that mean?

And Blunt, it just means PDF maps, guides, etc. Rubbish, basically

well mate i wouldnt want the soundtrack as i mostly turn it off in games, im assuming they are going to release maps as dlc, so you might not have to buy them like the rest of us on the cheap edition, digital tac guide..similar to the ones you find on steam i would assume. I have gone for the cheap edition as i was looking at the most expensive and it says that DLC will be fre...if released. They may release maps but as you may know most if not all the maps we play on are player generated anyhow....save the pennies buy the council edition and use the differance to have a pint while it downloads
