I've only played it for an hour but all looks very familiar. Also familiar in as much as the insanely sneaky AI makes sure I get pinned down behind a small pile of bricks and then blown up with a hand grenade. Comfortingly like Arma 2

Toby the controls are fully configurable and can you set up as in arma 2 which i have done, not sure about track IR, ill have to ask John

for anyone that doesnt like motion blur, the only solution for now is to turn post processing off, i actually think its livable on v.low

The helos are a little twitchy and i couldnt bleed any speed of the attack helo even with the throttle closed....but height loss was the same, so  i tried a tight turn, with throttle closed..no speed loss.....and beleive it or not it was very hard to crash through hard manoveres unlike arma 2, can someone else confirm this before i raise a ticket

The controls are mostly the same, the biggest change is how stances work (prone, crouch etc). There are several 'levels' of crouch that you can go into, which help enormously when taking cover behind objects (you don't always have to stand up to be able to see over something).

It's a little fiddly, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

You now have to press 'I' to get into the gear screen, 'G' by default will now throw a grenade - probably worth mentioning before Sulky causes another accident.....

You want to raise a ticket because you found it difficult to crash a chopper? Are you sure?
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Crashing helicopters is a major part of the Arma franchise. You're not really an Arma player if you've not flown straight into a mountain at least once. If it's not possible to crash then that's a serious bug and needs fixing :D

snooks all im saying is that in arma 2 if you flew low and hard in a chopper and tried to go round or over a hill or even do a backflip sometimes the helo would lose lift like in real life and sink ... which has been the cause for a few crashes of mine in arma 2, this time in arma 3 it doesnt do that i tried a few back flips and barrel rolls  at less than 100m and was able to recover the helo without any apparent  loss in lift at the rounding out fo the manovere (the bottom). There is a thing called effective translational lift and its a fine knife edge between having it and not, where as in arma 2 they pretty much had it nailed i dont think theve modelled it this time..thats all im saying

a pilot friend of mine has just come into the office and said that helos flying hard and fast in turns act like a rear wheel drive car in a sense that the bottom aft of the helo tries to slip out of the turn...didnt notice it do that either...which it also did in arma 2

ps had to add new post as i couldnt edit mine in work

Can someone take the attack helo up for a fly and see what you think? Lib?

Sod that, there's people shooting from...somewhere. Leave him, he'll crow up and fly around in a bit.

Does the alpha have a mission editor? I'm feeling editty, no diggety.
