Here is a nice track from New Zealand that features in the V8 Supercar Series.  I attached a video so you can see what the real one is like, pretty bumpy  .

Bumpy?...no wonder it has this name...'Pukek...'Pukehole' :norty:

An excellent combo Seany, but very very frustrating.

I find the fastest setup (just) are with the car very soft, but then I'm inconsistent. Firm it up, and I'm more consistent but slower. I just cant find a happy medium.

Tweak, tweak, tweak, same time, same time, same time. Arrgghh.

Not a boring combo at all. The track can be hard at least with this car. I like older cars like this and I agree that this doesn't want to tune well. I feel the default set I way too soft. The car sways backwards, forwards and sideways. I have managed to make it harder but myriad of problems remains. I hope someone has managed to make a working set.

Just did a few more practice laps.  Bloody hell, yep definitely requires your full attention :D .  I think the hardest part is how the steering has a bit of a mind of it's own sometimes, you think it's straight and it starts to wander.

Short facts for Wednesday Event:

Qualify: 15 Minutes
Sprint Race: 8 Laps
Long Race: 37 Laps, Fuel Rate: 2.0x (appr. 170 liters fuel needed for the race)

I decided to set this combo without a password; this means that users are able to join during sprint race, long race is pre-booked, so there will be no problem in there.

Regarding the start time, I tend to be a bit relaxed; we start when enough people are there on the server.

This car has been tamed a bit since I last tried it, it's still and handful though (500+ bhp and a turbo) :) .  I think the Nürburgring GP will suit the car.  We can focus on learning the car instead of having to learn both a new track and a tricky car...more fun/racing :racing: - less Taz :taz: :D !

Hi guys!

enjoyed the race yesterday. Though manual clutch using a chair on wheels wasnt a good idea, kept wheeling back and crunching the box, in the end i lost all gears with 10 laps to go!
Best technique seemed to be a mix of left and right foot braking. I looked pretty much like this all race! http://youtu.be/C4Qi7dlYKx0?t=1m30s

Sierras sounds good :D

Just done a few laps. 2:11 with lots of work needed, mainly my technique! Might have to put auto-blip on i think.

My last race with Jaguar ended real bad. I had neck pain during the day while it was manageable with short races (could rest between races) it started to go real bad in the long race. Somewhere between 15-20 laps I couldn't concentrate anymore, missed a corner and slammed to wall. This ultimate realistic race simulator decided to teleport me back to pits so David Copperfield gave me full repair, new tires and a tank full of gas in a split of second. I tried to continue because hated the idea of quiting, but the magic pit stop felt like cheating. Pondered that in my head for some laps and decided to compensate bit of the 'cheat' by making a real pit stop. The terrible feeling in the neck and too much speed into the pit entry lane ended my car and the race for good.

So a really good race ended bad and my neck is still bad :taz:

Ah - sorry to hear that... I was wondering what's going on with you, but my XyChat app seemed to be not working anymore, so I couldn't see if you were sending some chat messages. You had very good chances to win this :) After I told everyone not to forget to fuel the cat up, guess what I did. Started with fuel for 4 laps... I didn't expect to win this one, I also made tons of mistakes (though I somehow managed to keep the car kind of undamaged)

You and Seany might run in the "my-body-can't-take-more-of-it" class in the future :norty: No seriously: I hope you both get better soon!

Hi Rob, it was good to see you on Wednesday! Unlucky ending for you :(

I have to say I really like the way the manual shifting is done in AC. I just started with AC with the manual shifting (in a fruitless try to keep up with Deetz's and Seany's starts), and in the beginning it was really really terrible. But now I feel quite comfortable with it. I know the feeling of the wheeled chair moving backwards (and also the pedals moving forwards or turning sidewards from time to time :D).

See you soon!

Nice to have you on with us Rob.  Hope you can join us again!

Hi Guys, apologies for missing Wednesday's race's, unfortunately other commitments got it the way.

A bit of a mad combo (lol, just how we like it) I have to say, so well done all who competed, sorry to hear of your woes Aquilifer.

Looking forward to another fine (Mad) combo this week. I thought I was going to miss Mondays night racing, but thankfully have managed to re-schedule some work commitments.

I'll try a new method for prebooking for the long race, which asserts the proper grid, but has the disadvantage of no practicing before the race.

Sorry, it was not possible today to perform the long race session - we had problems connecting to our ftp server... We hope to sort that out soon.
