Series 5 airs on Sky Atlantic on Monday 13th April 2015 (US viewers get it on HBO on Sunday 12th April).

Winter is coming, or gone, depending on your point of view.

Season 5 trailers are out now!

Here's the first one:

Anyone watched the leaked episodes? I've watched the first three so far, I'm gutted it's only going to be 10 episodes this season but looks like it'll be epic again.

Can understand the people getting the leaks. You've now watched them and have to wait 5 weeks for your next show, instead of waiting a week :D

Yep, watched all four.  Not bothered by the five week wait, waited a year right?

My thought process was that if I don't watch the leaks and then come across some spoilers from them before they're on TV I'd be annoyed so I just watched them.

Good episodes so far though. Shane there's only 10 episodes this season though but I guess quality is better than quantity.

I hate to say this, but so far, with two episodes viewed (I'm watching them as they get released), I am distinctly underwhelmed.

Chunks of the books have been skipped over and the story lines are rapidly diverging from the books.   So far the first two episodes felt like scene setting, which in an already short 10 episode series, feels like too much pre-amble and not enough interesting story.

I'm assuming that there must be something much more interesting in episode three, as I am not feeling the love for the first two.   Previous episodes seemed a little more engaging.  I'm guessing that the distinct lack of "OMG DID YOU SEE LAST NIGHT'S EPISODE" in this thread means that others in the community may have had a similar experience.

The book divergence is intended.  They said they will be running out of book material as R.R isn't writing fast enough.

There's a youtube channel called Emergency Awesome, and the guy talks to the series creators, eplains plots and the like.  The predictions for this seasons are mostly right upto the leaked material.

Yep, I knew they were diverging, but I'm feeling that nothing so far has happened and I've watched 20% of the series!

I have watched the first 4 and sadly I agree with you TL!

Maybe things pick up a little bit in 3 and 4... maybe... but so far nothing that has made me grip the edge of my seat :/

There's nothing substantial except for setting up the plot in all the leaked episodes.  There are some minor altercations in episode 4.

By the looks of it, episode 5 will be good on multiple continents.

The most interesting stories at this point are John and Arya.  The rest lack character although Tyrion is also one of my favourites, but as of now its a big meh.

Agree with the above. Especially John. Loving that arc. I guess the difficulty it we have come to expect so much from the show.. Even though it may be a little weak, it's still more interesting than most other options atm!!!

I think the producers are losing the plot (and me).   I know they are writing their own way from here on out, but they are taking far too many liberties with the characters for me and often being 'out there' for no valid reason.   For example, the Theon scene at the end of this week's episode:  seriously?  Off book, off piste and for what?   Sorry folks, I have not been at all impressed with this series and am marking it 5/10 at the moment with a distinct danger of me not bothering too much about when I see the next episode.   Previous series had be expectantly waiting for the next instalment, but I've not been on the edge of my seat at all this series.

I know it is practically heresy to criticise GoT, but it seems to have lost its mojo.

With you to a point mate lots of build but nothing big a coming as far as I can see. Won't give up yet but not the best season. It a very damp squip after season 4

Must say I agree with you as far as the last two episodes. Though the alley scene in episode 3 (?) was one of the more epic ones of the series. A lot of the events so far this season has felt like filler content. I really hope they can bring it back to the level of the previous seasons.
