In keeping with Smilo's request...

"And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust."

Quote from: Tutonic;399346Yep. Was it supposed to demonstrate what a monster he is?

We already knew that....
And, I feel that Sanza slowly coming to realise what she has gotten herself into would have had more emotional impact than the very sudden realisation of one minute marriage, the next rape.
All our Gods have abandoned us.

Watched it last night.
Was it really any worse than Daenerys' wedding night with Khal Drogo? It  pretty much mirrored her experience. Perhaps it differs as one was more  custom and one was done as spite. Well and the audience.
...that and the fact that she turned the situation into one in which she was on top (as they say).  It was also a strong part of her story line, building her towards leadership.  The discussed scene added nothing to the storyline imo, did not develop anything that we did not already know and was simply for shock value.   Unnecessary imo.
TL.
Wisdom doesn\'t necessarily come with age. Sometimes age just shows up all by itself.  (Tom Wilson)
Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships. (Michael Jordan)

Gorion

It's not unnecessary, it's needed for the next episode which is hinted at during the next episode teaser.
Basically, it should be a Theon vs Reek thing, as if you remember Theon noticed Sansa disobeying his masters orders, and he remembered his real name during the wedding.  In addition during the room scene, he didn't want to be there even if he was ordered to, and had to be told twice or thrice to put his head up, plus that end scene were he was crying.  Me thinks that ramsay might get some well deserved justice, or some sort of result with Theon reverting somewhat to his former self.

With the army approaching from the north (wall) Do you think that the family are going to end up being murdered in war?
But did we not already have that suspicion before that scene?  Clearly if the scene becomes part of an important storyline then I will be wrong.

Quote from: SxtyFour;399369Unable to add spoiler tags so deleting post.

Spoiler tags are used thus:

{spoiler=XXXX}your text{/spoiler}

Replace {} with []
XXXX is the subject, so the tag gives 'Spoiler about' and if you replace XXXX with GoT then the tag will show 'Spoiler about GoT'.

I think the scene is a sort of catalyst, nudging certain characters into a determined direction.
As in, Theon going ballistic and somehow killing ramsay during the Winterfall siege.  Plus there's the candle in the window, which should be linked with wintertown and Brienne

Also expecting major backlash from the queen of thorns, and we might face her, or Cersei dying.
Have a look at youtube channel called Emergency Awesome.

I started reading the book again, then had to check I was reading the right book. What amazes me is that they make so few episodes. Compare GoT to series like Arrow, The Flash, Person of Interest, all of which manage 23 episodes, then look at how much of the story gets left out of Game Of Thrones.
Best way I've found is to just see it as another story. I guess its one way to ensure continued book sales lol

Quote from: Chaosphere;399345Tyrion's arc is now the only one I am even remotely interested in. ...../

As the man himself says, he's still going strong......

Gorion

Just brilliant.

Him and Jon Snow are the most interesting characters of the show imo.

Well Monday's episode seemed better to me and certainly set the scene for some slightly more exciting storylines coming to fruition.
The Cersei situation was unassumed but got potential and amusing and Tyrian meets Denaerys finally. Theon's still a being a knob (without a knob) though :sideways:
Gorion

Latest episode is bad ass as bad ass can be.

Going to be hard to top this one next week.
