Oh man really? I've created one on Brackwater EbonRock, whats the latency like on the US servers they all showed red for me

US EAST is better than it was during the load test a month or so back, that was west coast, the ping is like 120ish, vs 70ish on EU.  The markers they show during server selection don't reflect ingame that i've seen so far anyhow.  In game feels no different to me, seems their net code is pretty good.  Though i ended up playing more conan lastnight :p  did get to lvl7 in NW.

Not a great fan of the amount of corpse stealing going on at the moment.  Kill something, and somebody else then collects the crafting stuff.  There ought to be a short timer or something to give exclusivity to the combat tagger imo.   I remember the same thing happening in WoW, and it was annoying then too!

I gave it 90 minutes of my evening and must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The performance was great, it looks very nice. Given the number of players in towns etc. no stuttering or strange stuff happening.

I'm not sure why it is being delayed, content perhaps, but I feel that is something that can be added as the game matures. Certainly felt as good if not better than the other quality open world surivival games out there.

I worked my way to level 8 and could have kept going, but decided to stay below that magic 2 hour mark.

It appears that bar a global pandemic, this game will finally launch on 31 August 2021.  Been looking at some late beta streams and it is looking good.

Indeed, thanks, also getting me watching a few streams of the game, which is looking rather pretty I must say.

So who is planning on jumping in on this day 1?

I don't know about everyone else but I fee a bit disconnected after all these months of not moving around, finally and ironically, the UK are letting us back in if vaccinated from the 1st of August. Then the Dutch and half of Europe are implementing mandatory isolation and 3 tests to get back to NL :angry:.


If you be nice to have a group of dMw'ers to enjoy this with since a) it's an MMO style so there are companies so a way to stay connected. b) since it might have a bit of a lifespan and keep more people interested than the average new game. (not meaning to curse it!!)

I checked, there's no Dead Men or dMw Companies right now. Perhaps if anyone has closed beta access they can go on there and create Dead Men Walking?

I'm not sure how good an idea it is to try to max out your graphics for this, I capped mine at 60fps simply because most of the beginning is PvE. I suppose you could look at the benchmarks for certain rigs and determine if 6fps is possible, certainly the game doesn't need First Person multiplayer performance, there's no latency dsiadvantage at least early on.

I've been playing on a 970 with everything set to High. It can take a while to load and when I first jump in I'm stood in a world waiting for assest to load, but once it's caught up it seems to run ok for the most part. Can get stuttery when you come to the settlements.

I will be playing this on launch, no much point creating a company in beta since it will be wiped i presume.

I'm undecided on what server to join for launch, though myself and Jewels have toons on Lyonesse... though it does seem to be highly populated with French.

I should be about for day 1 fun.

Are companies persisting after beta wipe? I haven't been able to find any info.
