I also love this headset. I would love it even more at that price! Considering what I did pay for it. Go get a pair NOW!

just done some emergency surgery on my headset, which means its useful life span is probably quite short now!  Had a quick scan of the last page or 2 and the headsets most similar to mine/the type I like were:
PC151 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-030-SN
HS-600 http://uk.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=437&subcategory=442&product=12208
...I am  not a fan of the idea of 5.1 headsets ;)

Do either of these clamp particularly hard to your head or become uncomfortable when wearing glasses?  are there any similar models I should consider? good microphone, good bass response, and good isolation would be a bonus (not least for other people in the same room!)

Microphone should be good enough for voice considering that my good old Plantronics (audio 90s?) Is still coping okay with voice recognition despite the fact I have taken apart a few times to solder bits inside! :)

I have the very similar PC160s from Sennheiser and they're very comfortable even after long periods. Sound great too. :D

Jamoe

I have some Medusa 5.1 Pro things, better for pin pointing sounds then my P90s, and comfortable with glasses. I know you arn't interested in 5.1's but I think they where worth it. :)

the creative HS 900's look rather nice... can't make out if the HS-600's are open or closed backed?

I see they do a stereo version of the Medusas now for the two-eared skeptics ;)

I must admit I bought a pair of the Medusas, but they went back within the day. I couldn't really tell the difference between them and my previous pair of good stereo headphones, and I couldn't plug my 7.1 speaker system in with them and still get sound out all the speakers, even though the number of calbes was the same so I was hoping it would just do a passthrough not decode/reencode or similar.

I've created an unholy mix of Skullcandy Hesh and a Plantronics Audio300 with little heating and bending of the stem.

Very comfortable and effective.

Last week, one of my ear pieces of my headset broke off and I'm trying to repair it.  Playing CSS through the speakers totally sucks!!!!!!!!

If anyone is still using speakers, seriously, you don't know what you are missing!  Gaming with headsets is essential in my opinion.

Using the speakers, I could hear gun fire and running close to me but nothing else.  To top it off directional sound was rubbish.

It was like playing with my head on back to front! :D

I've gone and bought a totally cheap headset from Maplins as money is still very short - I hope they will do the job.

Broken headset is a Sennheiser but I'd be very interested in the Razers mentioned earlier - ebuyer doing them for about £80 I think.

I love Razer stuff. I think I'll make the jump to a headset at some point, but I just keep putting it off. Having something that looks cool like that might make me over come my association of nerd-y-ness I have with headsets and make the plunge.

P.S: This is post number 1337, my l33t post. (just showing I can be nerdy)
