Ninj, I did get some hissing - but try swapping the plugs from input to output (or vicesersa) on the back of the box. That solved it for me.

Also, ensure that the sound levels on the black thingy on the wire  (<-- spot the techy lol) are not high but compensate by turning up the volume on the main box.

After disaterous forays into Steel band things and er.....another one that escapes me, I returned to my trusty Plantronics Audio 90s. I don't think I'm missing a thing!

Don't think they are but you don't miss a thing with them. The 500's are on special this week with 25% off the regular price!! :dribble:  They are usb plug and play with attached mute\+vol\-vol button. I use my 400's for gaming and music and have no complaints whatsoever....brilliant sound!

Thulsa Doom

Resurrecting an old thread here.

My Medusa 5.1 headphones were vandalised by my kids and now have no mic.
I can't find anywhere online that has a spare add-on headset for sale, they all appear as either out-of-stock or unavailable.

Anyone know where I can get a set, the ones that plug into the small amp box.?

If I can't get them now, can anyone recommend a good headphone/mic 7.1 combo?

TeaLeaf

Interested in the results of this question as my Medusa's are getting a bit, well, crusty  ....nope, not for those reasons, but because the kids use them too and they grab them with food-covered fingers etc.

New headphone/mic combo are on the way, just need to decide which ones.

I converted to the medusa 5.1's a while back. They are an awesome piece of kit. Maybe Norm can help you out as he's going to the lan?

Also play.com has raised there price to £54.99. I presume as they have all sold out.

Guys, how was the installation and hookup? Are they really surround sound? Where did you plug them in to your soundcard? I noticed that they only have two plugs one for the mic and one for the headphones themself. How does that equate to surround sound?

It's time for a new headset for me.
I had this 1 allready for quit some time (Trust and it was good but after loads of problems (and it surviving a few LANs) it's time for a new headset.

I'm currently looking in to these and need to know what people think of them:

1)Plantronics .Audio 510 USB Stereo (USB-connection, this 1 has my preference for costs and brand)
http://www.plantronics.com/europe_union/en_GB/products/cat1200109/cat1200109/prod5500014

2)Zalman Headset ZM-RS6F+M 5.1 (although this connection is a 3.5mm jack, not sure if this 1 is possible for my Shuttle)
http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/view.asp?idx=134&code=023

3)Speedlink Medusa 5.1 USB Headset (USB-connection but quit pricy, I've got a budget you know)

4)Sweex Virtual 5.1 USB 2.0 Vibration Headset (USB-connection, quit cheap)
http://sweex.nl/producten.php?sectie=2&subsectie=2&item=86&artikel=637

5)Trust Surround USB Headset HS-6200 (I had my previous Trust headset for quit sometime so I trust Trust)
http://www.trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=14804

I need offcourse:
-USB-plug if possible;
-Attachable to my Shuttle (remember, onboard sound);
-Microphone.

My Shuttle attachments:
Front Panel connectors
Microphone
Headphone (Line-out)
2x USB 2.0
Back Panel connectors
6x USB 2.0
8-ch Audio line-out (2x rear/front, bass/center, surround/back)
Survivor of LAN V, VI, VIII, IX, X, XII, XIV, XVI, XVIII, XX, XXIV, XXX, XXXII, XXXIV and XXXVI so far...
