I know many seem to like the steelseries range of gaming cans.. Have a gander see if any fit your budget DD.

I've just upgraded my Logitech 930 to a pair of these and thought I'd let you know what they're like.

The first thing you notice is the size, they are big, and heavy, comfortable to wear, but if you see me at the LAN with my head on the table I'm not asleep and may need help getting my headset off.

There are 5 speakers in each side giving true 7:1 sound which gives without doubt the best in-game audio I've ever had, the positioning is at another level and clarity is sublime.

There were issues with the MIC in early versions but this was updated recently and they fine now for voice comms and skype calls etc.

For music I would rate them as shite (to be fair my standards for this are high),  I use a separate DAC and headphones for that so not an issue, but I wouldn't want them as my only headset.

They have a wide and airy sound-stage which adds a realistic sound to games and they have several pre-sets to accentuate footsteps or explosions etc but these are mainly just EQ settings that can be tweaked in the software anyway.

The noise cancelling system in the base unit works well and filters out any background noise such as typing on the mech keyboard, great if you use an open mic rather then push to talk.

In conclusion these are too expensive for an all round headset but for gaming they are absolutely superb.

My Wife got me some Logitech G533 which have surround sound and are noise cancelling - the surround sound is highly helpful in fsp as you can tell where the enemy is coming from. Their wireless so you have the freedom of not having to faff about and remove/put them back on when you need to get a drink/snack.

Noise cancelling works a treat too - I can hear the wife talking to me when she's sat next to me:roflmao:

Same here, I think I was pleased getting them for 70 quid or so, 45 is insane.

I had a bit of a chuffing nightmare with a Corsair Vengence 1500 USB headset yesterday.  Getting it to play nice with Discord proved impossible.  I have a decent set of Sony wireless N/C headphones so I'm going to try my Sennheiser USB Comms Bluetooth Dongle with them tonight and see if I have any more luck.

From a Corsair section but of course there are also reports of enhancements not always appearing in windows 10 sound settings for that device:


If i recall correctly, When you open Sound from Windows, You should see a prompt to disable enhancements. Make sure you disable them as it should resolve the Discord issue.

Comes up time and time again I hear.

I had to install the dongle on a front-facing USB port as there was a lot of interference from the rear port and the SQ isn't as good as it is to my phone but it is very workable, wireless and only cost me £13.  It _appears_ to be playing with Discord a bit better but Discord doesn't actually have a call quality/recording feature so I am guessing a bit.

Is anyone online tonight to check the performance in-game?

retired my hyper x head set to my lan pc now, bought some corsair void pro rgb head set, its sounding sweet.
