Quote from: Sn00ks;252173Well I went for the freebie slow delivery and it arrived this morning. :yahoo:

Trouble is when I try to connect to a 'group' server it can't find one .

I checked and I'm in the dMw group, aren't I?

Any suggestions on how I can connect to it?

patched up yet?:learn:
By patched up I mean updated in steam?

Err, Steam did a download after I installed it so I guess it is.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Ooherr, I see what you meant now:blink:
My edited shortcut only takes me to the lobby and it says all my friends are "Not in joinable game":g:

gonna try through steam now...looking good so far

Dammit, I've played the demo, pre-loaded, purchased, now I have to wait again for it to download...@14.8k.

See you tomorrow then.

Bought the disk version, cheap delivery, £19.97 all in. Played it today...It's great. Just as fun as the demo. It has plenty of annoying problems. Being valve I'm sure they'll be fixed...but not quickly enough for my liking. Still well worth it.

(If you're looking for other games to buy GTA IV is now us for prepurchase. Even on steam it works out as £32 (£7 more than the shops...but I love keeping my games in steam).

Yup, as did I. Shame that steam doesn't accept the S/N's from all games sold by steam, otherwise I could have got GTA IV for £7 less.

Back on topic, how fun is the versus mode. I love playing as the zombies. The hunter reminds me of the Alien from AVP 1...I can never get it to do quite what I want him to, but if use right would be deadly. The boomer is a little tougher because he's so weak, but if you get people there are plenty of points to be had. The smoker is my favourite though. If you pick the right angle you can grab people and their team will struggle for ages to save them...just long enough to throw them into chaos.

Anyone for playing through the No Mercy campaign today?  I really want to try the finale in multiplayer. :)

Or maybe even in Versus mode if there are enough people?

I get the idea that the map rotation L4D server aint working.
Every time there's the same map on.
Yesterday whe complete this map that now is on,and after it was done it started the same map again.:g:

I am not sure what you are getting at? There are only four chapters in the multiplayer. So when you have finished the four chapters the game ends. There is no rotation as on e.g. a CS server.

IMHO, Valve have dropped the ball on this one. It's good fun to play but I'm doubting its longevity. I'm working my way through the single-player campaign and it just doesn't fit the normal SP experience. Ten minutes into the game and you've encountered every type of enemy and had access to all the game's weapons and, as you progress, the chapters get easier instead of harder. That's crap.

The lack of any save game, the way the AI survivors refuse to even pickup molotovs/pipebombs let alone use them - all adds to the feeling that this is a port from a console game.

I too think its good fun to play, but you have to play with 3 other live players, or its not as enjoyable as alone with 3 AIs. I agree with OB, its not longevity. But absolutely a good game to play with others, but just not a good single-player game.
Plus, with only four campains, even it its randomized, it gets tiresom after a while.

Maybe we should consider the option of having humans playing zombies?
