It's those internal timings autokiller adjusts, instead of. killing the apps.

Paul O'Brian has rooted the HTC Desire. Details are here.

No AP2SD yet but it should be along pretty soon. This is a fist revision and a such requires you to have access to both Windows and Linux. It's nowhere near as clean as the 1 click process that was available on the Hero but it at least works.

Well it is done. I now have a shiny new Desire with root access and a gigabyte of storage for apps. Sweet.

Now to install everything again. :eyebrow:

This seems a pretty good deal for the desire.

24 months @ Ã,£35 on O2 - 900 mins unlimted texts + Ã,£5 for unlimited data. + 7months free or Ã,£90 cashback... oh, and the handset is free!

24 month deals really suck IMHO. It's just too long to own a phone without wanting a change. 18 month max is my rule.

18 months is the max I can put up with. I pay a bit more each month to make sure I can change those 6 months earlier. Phones have always seen better days by then.

O2 are in the shops doing a new tariff, where after 12 months you can upgrade your phone.

Also worth noting is that as far as I can tell O2 do not have a data cap on their service. I have a free data 'bolt on' with my Ã,£19.99 a month SIM only contract. As long as I don't use it for P2P or streaming large amounts of video, I can do pretty much what I like. I'm averaging 500-600MB a month at the moment with no squeak from O2.

Same deal with vodafone on the cap. They advertise it as 500MB but they don't enforce it. Loads of posts on their forums about this.
