I really should wear my glasses when on the pc.
That pic is of my Grandad's watch, my dad's watch is a Zodiac.
I'll post a pic when I find one.
Well I finally got round to getting it repaired, picked it up this morning.
Ticking again after over 45 yrs in a box.

So far it appears to be keeping time, we'll see after a day or two.

Grats on the retirement present!  Very stealth!

Nice . Let's hope it's sand-proof :thumbsup2:

I have been a bit lazy in updating , so adding the latest 2 additions to the collection.

I was home on leave in Feb and found this in an Ernest Jones in belfast, was 400 reduced to 200 and got a further 25 off because i bought the wife a gold harry potter time turner. Its an automatic Wr to 200m and came with a metal strap, a rubber strap and a strap tool. Didn't like the metal one so went with the Rubber strap.

and today found this in the watch shop. was reduced from 250 to 120, then got a further 25% with a code i had for a few years

the Mrs says i can have one or two a year, so hopefully more to follow

That blue dive strap is a winner for the Citizen, very nice

Looks like a number of deals on watches have popped up on HotUkDeals for those of us without the Rolex monies :D
My Fav's are:
Citizen down from £329 to £99
Casio Edifice £106 down from £250
There are a handful of others for the watch inclined, couldn't tell you why or what prompted it though.

Not sure how I've managed to be a target for these ads since I can't  afford these lol but take a look at THIS SALE for some pretty mental reductions in price at Ernest Jones.
Notable mentions right off the landing page look like:
This TAG Heuer down from £4050 to a (low?) £3000
This Montblanc down from £3540 to £2300

And there's a handful of lovely looking ladies TAG Heuer watches too.
And if any watch aficionados could tell me what the watch community impression of Zenith El Primero is as a make that would be nice because I'm not familiar with the name.

Otherwise please enjoy your Saturdays!
And no before any of you get lippy, I'm not in some affiliate program lol :roflmao:

So I've finally managed to find and purchase a watch that I can both afford and really love. Oh there were plenty that I loved but, even if I could afford them, the price would make me think twice about wearing them

Having fallen in love with the out-of-my-range Rolex Submariner with the green bezel I looked for a more affordable alternative ... and fell in love all over again :D

So I've gone for an Oris Aquis Date 41.5mm in green. This is the cheaper version, the one without the Calibre 400 movement - a saving of £1100 (I can put up with the lesser accuracy for that sort of saving).

OK. So it won't hold it's value like some brands but it will be worn regularly as well as treasured.

Very nice, good choice in green. I have an old TAG in Blue with a similar look, not as high end as yours but they both have a stylish simplicity to them.
Cheers, Bert

That's a lovely watch OB, I know what you mean on the price vs. wearing. There's one watch for me, that one day I'll buy, then I'll be too old to enjoy it and too skint to wear it out anywhere. This is my Eleanor.

Thanks, Albert. It became obvioius to me that I much preferred the simple 'diver' style and did look at the Tags. Stick up a piccy of yours, please.

Thanks, Benny.

Wow! That's a busy ol' watch face :D

If I had the funds I would have been fretting over some of the Omegas. Superb timepieces.

Wow. Tapatalk posted big! Had this for about 20 years, cost me £250 off eBay and I still love it. My wife liked it as well so we found her one off the same eBay watch seller shop.

I did buy an F1 TAG for my 45th which is far busier face wise like the one Benny posted but I have to say, that black faced Omega is beautiful.
Cheers, Bert
